Lets Fly To: Hawaii
Oahu Discovery Adventure
Compatible with Sim Update 12 and World Update XIV.
Good morning. On our flight adventure today. We'll take off from Molokai and head for the island of Oahu. It's the most visited and most populated island in Hawaii. Combining the big city lifestyle with the lush and laid back Hawaiian countryside. This island is nicknamed the gathering place and rightfully so because it appeals to many people. The island of Oahu is the most modern of the islands in Hawaii. But it still manages to maintain the sleepy island feel that Hawaii is famous for. This island really gives you the best of both worlds. And as you travel from one area to the next, in some ways, it's hard to believe that this is the same island only a few miles from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.
If you are looking for the high end vacation, filled with shopping, stays at luxurious hotels and dining at the finest restaurants on the island. Oahu can deliver on that choice. A stay along Waikiki Beach will satisfy all of these wishes and then more. It will allow you easy access to one of the most famous beaches in the world. With warm waters, ocean activities, lounging, and the iconic Diamond Head Crater in close view. There is so much to do throughout Waikiki that you will never have to leave the area. If you wanted to just stay here you can spend your entire vacation at one of the many hotels that front the water and leave the island happy. Even though the area is quite busy, you will still feel like you are in paradise, and will have so much at your disposal that your vacation will be memorable.
Now if you are looking to get out of the city and escape the bigger crowds and traffic jams. You know. Get out and actually go and discover the island. Then Oahu has plenty of options for that choice as well. Just a short drive from Waikiki, the island transforms from city to country. There are hidden beaches and rainforests. Volcanic peaks and hidden coves with coral reefs that are the homes of an incredible amount of sealife. From the North Shore to the Windward Coast, sites like the Polynesian Cultural Center and the Dole Plantation can be found and explored freely. And if you love the water. Then you'll find the most popular beaches in Oahu are actually some of the most famous beaches in the world. Thanks to their amazing waves and the surfing hot spots like Banzai Pipeline. Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay. The north shore of Oahu is the mecca for surfers from all over the world.
Along the western and southern coastlines of the island, the scenery changes again to a dryer desert environment. With rocky cliffs and lookout points lining the coast. There are extinct volcanos that once shaped the island. High peaks and mountain ridges that create their own weather systems. Oahu is one of the most popular island destinations in the world, and once you arrive, you will see why. There is so much diversity and so much to do, that each day on the island can be a different adventure, and you won’t have to go too far to find it.
So get ready to discover Oahu. The gathering place.

Recommended files for these Flight Adventures: All files below were used on these adventures to help me enjoy my trip along the way. I highly recommend using them and don't think you'll be disappointed if you also choose to install them in your community folder. If you choose to not use these suggested scenery addons, then some of the text to speech sounds may not make sense when you hear them during the trip. But these choices are entirely up to you.

This flight uses the default Cessna 172 Skyhawk with G1000 Glass Cockpit. You will have GPS autopilot capabilities, weather choices, refueling, VFR map, ATC and other assists to use if you wish. The GPS flightplan is already loaded inside the computer so all you have to do is start up and begin your flight. You will need to shut off your engine and set your parking brake once you land and park the aircraft at any stopping points along the way. See the readme.txt file for more information before departure.
The "Let's Fly To" series of trips are custom flight adventures created by Brad Allen for use in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Extensive time is spent building the flight plan and then doing research for interesting information to help tell a story that can give the user an appreciation for the places visited along the way. This helps create a unique experience not found in other bush trips that are available.
