Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle detent inlays
This package contains ready to 3D print Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle detent inlays as well as a script to create your own custom detent inlays.
Print them by yourself or ask a friend ;-)
Included ready to print detent inlays:
- FlyByWire A320 - [14, 23.5, 68]
- FlyByWire A32X - [14, 23.5, 58.5, 68]
- Cessna Citation CJ4 - [18, 70]
- DC Designs F15 - [70] startBlock [14]
- Blank with no detents - []
How to generate your own custom inlay:
VIDEO
This package ships a script for the great CadQuery. CadQuery is a scripting language to create 3D models.
- Download and extract the free CQ-editor.
- Put the script file detentGenerator.py in a directory.
- Start CQ-Editor with CQ-editor.cmd
- Open detentGenerator.py in CQ-Editor
- Adjust “detentAngles” and "text" and press the green play button
- A new model is rendered and a model file “detents.stl” is auto generated in the same directory as the script file.
Adjustments:
- Each entry in the detentAngles list creates a detent. To add or remove detents just add or remove entries from the list. The number in the list is for the position of the detent. It is the the angle in degrees from the start of the arc. See Picture.
- Edit the text. For no text set “”.
- For quick printing tests, to find the right positions of the detents, set “overlap=0” and save time.

Let's collect settings for other planes:
If you create succesfully an inlay for another plane, please post your settings. I'll add the settings to the description and add a ready to print file to the package.

Perfect tool!
Also propose an option for ATR42/72, which I myself use:
text = "ATR"
detentAngles = [13.25, 24.25, 60, 70]

Thanks for sharing, I'll include a ready to use stl for ATR in a next Version.

Thank you very much for sharing the files !
I would like to print one for FENIX A320 but I do not want the reverse detent.I want to start from Idle. Do I need to edit the stl file ?
Also, is it a good idea to try printing it with resin? I have been told it is very resistant

Hi, did you read the text and watch the Video? If you follow the steps you can create your own stl files as you like.

Hi, is there any video that shows the installation of the detent ?

Hi, just search on youtube. For example there is a video "Thrustmaster Warthog Afterburner Detent Mod Explanation and Install".

Doesn't work for me. The arching part simply gets bent and then blocks the throttle lever. Using PLA even with 100% infill, although that doesn't change much.

Hi, Does anyone have the settings for the Fenix A320 ?
Hi, you can just use the settings/files already provided here. You need to calibrate the fenix thrust lever to the detents.
In the MCDU:
MCDU MENU -> CONFIG -> CONTROLS CONFIG -> CALIBRATE

Hi. Thanks for sharing these. I'm glad I came here and look forward to trying them. How would I go about creating some for the Boeing airliners? I know you provided instructions for the process but where do you find info on where the essential detents should be on these aircraft?

Hello guys, what an amazing project that's just exactly what I was looking for thanks so much for creating this and sharing I really appreciate it. This kind of stuff is really helpful to the flight sim community I hope a lot of people will come across this and share as much as they can because this is gold dust. So if I want to send it out to a 3D printing company what files do I send esp A32NX fly-by-wire?
Once again thank you very much.

Hi, thanks for your kind words.
The .stl files are files which can be directly printed. You can preview them in windows with paint 3D or 3D-Viewer. For the Airbus I suggest printing detentsA320.stl and detentsA32X.stl.

Excellent Stuff, but mines are all broken, I think that I used a bad material to print ...
Any suggestion for the plastic ?

Hi, just standard PLA. But good 3D printing is a small science ;-). Most important is the correct levelling of the bed and the nozzle bed distance. This helped me a lot:

For the Thrustmaster Warthog, I successfully created a new model for FBW's A32NX detents, using the following settings:

IT WORKS like a charm !
Sorry to have missed the detents in EFB from Flybywire A320. After that everything is ok. And ok also for the CJ4.

that was a very good idea. We printed 9 parts for our friends, A320 and CRJ.
None corresponds to any of the detents. We tried several Sensitivities, no way.
Where did you find your detents ?
Hi, I don't completely understand your issues.
The ready to print A320 detent should fit for the A320 FlyByWire Mod Dev Version. In the FlyByWire Mod you need to calibrate your throttle in the EFB settings (iPad like).
For the CRJ I don't supply a ready to print one. But you can generate your own inlay using the process described on how to generate a custom inlay. You can decide by yourself on which positions there are detents.

Great idea, love this!
Nevertheless, I can't make use of it, cause I am mostly flying the FlyByWire A20NX using the Thrustmaster Airbus Sidestick, the Throttle Quadrant and the Quadrant Addon for Speed Brakes and Flaps. Now, as the detents for Thrust and Speed Brakes are very unrealistic, could you please come up with more realistic detents for mentioned controllers for the Thrust Levers and the Speed Brake Lever as well? I'd really love that!

Thanks for the feedback.
Since I don't own a throttle quadrant, I cannot develop anything by myself. Here I found a thread and some solutions and links:
