Because of the complexity of this airport I decided to release a developer version of the Detroit Metro Wayne Airport meaning is fully functional but the interior terminals are not 100% complete!

While you guys enjoy flying in and out of DTW I will continue working on completing the airport. This process will take me probably another half of year or more. All the flying aspects like Runways, Taxiways, Taxi signs, Gates and so on are updated according to Navigraph charts. The airport was designed to work with default ATC and online like Vatsim or Pilotedge or any other online services you prefer.

ILS frequencies were updated and aligned for all runways supporting the instrument landing system. Textures were applied to the exterior terminals but it is an in work progress meaning some of the textures might not look perfect.

The tunnel under the runway 09L-27R and taxiway`s V and F is in work progress as well, you might see the ground mesh snapping or being off, depending on your system, but for now that's the best I could do. Please understand that SDK offered by Asobo/ MFS has limitations, so I had to improvise a little.

If you are experience any issues with Dev 0.7 version please download dev 0.6 version. You will have the option to chose witch version you prefer. Version 0.7 is the latest version but it is not complete. 

The airport ground traffic should follow their path but again it might be off in some cases.

I did assign airliners to specific gates but it doesn't work all the time. Even the AIG traffic is ignoring the gates I assigned. I will continue testing and working on this matter, for the time being it will stay the way it is.

**Please let me know if you run into an error I made regarding taxiways, taxi sings, ils being way too off or any other flying aspects of this airport.**

**Anything related to the terminal or parking or any none flying aspects, please be patient, it is still in working progress.**

Delete the older version of KDTW from your community folder. Extract the latest KDTW-Detroit Metro Wayne-Developer x.x to your community folder.

This scenery looks really good. There are just some minor issues with floating cars in the parking garage area by north terminal D and some minor ground texture issues down taxiway M. Nothing that stops anyone from using the airport. Best of all, it (surprisingly) had no impact at all on FPS for me. Seems very lightweight on resources for how detailed it is.

Btw, I'm using SU10 beta, so some of the issues I'm seeing could be related to that, not sure. Wasn't even concerned about those issues.

This is very nice, especially for freeware.

One criticism I might have would be that the night lighting is VERY bright and seems to be a very harsh white light that doesn't look realistic, to my eye, compared to what I've seen at night at airports. I've never been to DTW and so have not seen the airport at night first hand, but it seems to me like it would look better if the lighting were toned down a bit. You may already be planning to improve night lighting considering how much incremental progress you've already made.

This looks a bit closer to what I'd expect, a yellower light that isn't so stark and white. As it is now, it really washes out all the textures:

Amazing work. Truly. The interior definitely adds to the immersion and is done to almost perfection! Looking forward to future updates.

This scenery of my home airport is outstanding. Great job. Especially night looks awesome.

how do we delete Static aircraft? i use AIG traffic. I would like to delete all static aircraft. is there a way ?

I believe what you refer to as the developer version will be adequate for many of us. Personally, I just fly. I fly GA and do not recall ever working my way to inside a terminal. I am very much aware that many others do. Perhaps you can finish parallel KDTW's. One that is robust with all the bells and whistles, and one that just provides the same high level of detail outside the facilities, but foregoes the interior features.

Great work! Question - I see people in the screenshots, but no people show up in the scenery? Any ideas as to why?

Thank you so much, you have created an airport in a such a great quality and detail, that is better than the work of some commercial developers!!! I love this airport that I often have visited before during my trips to the US.

Just tried out your KDTW on live stream and gawked at the interior airside work. Everyone in stream was rather impressed too but then we all got unimpressed as the airport ate all my video cards VRAM and went from 60 fps to 11. Hhahahaha. Airport is looking great! Can't wait for more optimzations and model completion work! Keep up the great work!

Getting some pink building textures on this great scenery.

If you change the folder name e.g;

KDTW-Detroit Metro Wayne-Dev 0.5

KDTW-Detroit Metro Wayne-Dev 0.6

It will leave BOTH versions in the install folder.

You should tell users in the install instructions to delete any older versions.

KDTW add-on pauses sim.

Sim loads ok from start with add-on in Community. After the world map loads and I choose my aircraft and then my route, the sim continues fine until about 35% loaded (this only takes a few seconds to load up to this point). The sim is then not crashing but stopping. The load screen stays up, but it just stops. I check in task manager and there is not activity on the GPU nor the CPU related to FS. After I clean out KDTW file from Community, I have to uninstall and reinstall whatever plane i was using and restart my PC and it seems ok, all planes do the same thing if I choose KDTW as a destination or arrival. I did find out that KDTW seems to not work even without your add-on so I might have a corrupted KDTW location? I am stumped.

Beautiful job, but it breaks all my plans IF I install flybywires A320. Runs fine without the fbw in there.
