EGPL Benbecula Airport - now version 1.3
Latest version adds the following:-
Extensive perimeter fencing.
Re-texturing of some aprons.
Added detail to Benbecula golf course.
Tree removal in local area
This is a partial upgrade of the existing default airport.
The basic default airfield layout is mostly retained, the major changes are to the buildings and features around the main arrivals and departure apron.
Version 1.2 includes the removal of the grossly oversized wind turbine on the approach to runway 06. The wigwags at the hold points are now flashing. The modified approach lighting has had lights added, although these are illuminating the ground during night time hours. However the airports normal hours don't include night time arrivals. There is also significant extra detail added to the village of Balivanich. Also many trees have been removed around the village and airfield.
The airport is on the island of Benbecula, being part of Scotland's Outer Hebrides.
The airfield is now run by Highlands and Islands Airports Group and has regular scheduled flights to Stornoway, Inverness and Glasgow. There are also flights supporting the nearby missile testing range.
The airfiled file should be unzipped into your MSFS Community Folder.

Don't forget to update the version number in the manifest.json file.
Here it shows version number 1.2, but shows 0.1.0 in the manifest.

Look out for an update soon which will get rid of massive wind turbine on approach and also add more detail to the surrounds.

Beautiful airport. The giant windmill in the final approach path to rw06 made it a somewhat interesting landing. 😊

Thanks for this new destination. Any chance you can create some kind of exclude to get rid of the dirty big windmill Asobo has placed on the approach to Rwy 06? Looking at Google Earth I see no evidence of any such thing, and little wonder as it obstructs the approach.

I meant to mention that in my details. All my attempts so far have failed to get rid of this monster. I believe there is a much smaller turbine in this location.
I am looking at another airfield now where the same situation arises, so must try to find an answer.
