This is a modification to the MSFS 2020 default Asobo C172SP Classic aircraft, which is the standard variant of the C172SP. The mod does not change the ski or seaplane variants.

This mod is primarily aimed at improving the overall flight dynamics of this aircraft, providing a more realistic flying experience that is much closer to the actual aircraft. Multiple changes have been made to the engine and flight model parameters, and the aircraft weight and balance, which are all detailed in the Change Log file included under the Documentation folder. A full PDF copy of the aircraft POH, the Garmin G1000NXi Pilots Guide, and some helpful tips for operating this aircraft are also included under the Documentation folder. A PDF copy of the FAA Airplane Flying Handbook, which is an excellent real world PPL flight training guide, is also included.

This mod is easily installed by simply unzipping the download file and copying the mge-asobo-aircraft-c172sp-classic-std folder to the MSFS Community folder. It will then replace the existing default C172SP Classic aircraft in the MSFS aircraft selection screen, and will also continue to utilize any existing aircraft Liveries. To uninstall the mod and return to using the MSFS default aircraft, simply remove it from the Community folder. This aircraft and this mod are only for the MSFS Deluxe Edition and Premium Deluxe Edition.

Can you please make similar mods for the Robin DR400 and the DHC-2 Beaver? Pretty please? I love those planes and I would love to have more realistic ones.

Tip of the Day: When starting a flight and selecting one of the PRESET Weather options in MSFS, the local weather conditions at the airport you are starting from will be set to the values in the PRESET Weather screen, including the local Temperature and Barometric Pressure, which are set to the standard sea level ISA settings of 15C (59F) and 29.92 inHg. The sea level ISA settings will be used regardless of the actual altitude of the airport, which can make them very different from what you would expect, especially at higher elevation airports like KLXV (9900 ft msl) where the standard ISA temperature is actually -5C and the ISA pressure is 20.58 inHg. This can greatly affect the realistic performance of the aircraft. If you want to use the PRESET Weather option, you should manually change the Temperature and Pressure settings on the PRESET screen to the correct ISA values for the field elevation, or to the actual current airport METAR values.

If you select the LIVE Weather option, the local conditions at the airport will be correctly set based on the current METAR report for that airport. But, the aircraft altimeter will still default to the ISA setting of 29.92 and must be manually reset to the local barometric pressure, or to the airport elevation.

Extremely interesting, I did not know that. Where can I find the current and correct information and values for the airport I want to fly at?

Now the addon is properly installed, but for some reason the aircraft stays completely coordinated in both, high and low rpm (no right correction is needed in order to keep the ball in the center while climbing for example).

The flight assistant is in hard mode.

Could you fix this?

Thanks for this feedback. I agree that the P-Factor induced yaw is not as realistic as it should be... Unfortunately, MSFS does not model this effect as accurately as it should, and many other aircraft also exhibit this same problem.

To improve it, I recommend making the following change:

Open the flight_model.cfg file in Notepad.
Look for this line under the [FLIGHT_TUNING] section...

p_factor_on_yaw = 1

Change it to this...

p_factor_on_yaw = 2

I will include this change in the next release of the mod.

Need help. I copied mge-asobo-aircraft-c172sp-classic-std folder to the MSFS Community folder but I couldn't find MG_Enterprises_C172. But I don't have the same issue with missing JP Logistic C152 which I also copied their mod to MSFS Community folder

The Manufacturers Name in the aircraft selection screen for this aircraft has been changed from MG_ENTERPRISES back to the original TEXTRON as requested by multiple users. It should also now appear near the bottom of the CONTENT MANAGER list as MG_ENTERPRISES C172 with the current version number.

When installing into the MSFS2020 community folder and using the MSFS addons linker it still shows up as cannot read the manifest.json file. How do I know if it working?

If it is installed correctly, it should now appear in the CONTENT MANAGER near the bottom of the list as a COMMUNITY mod by MG_ENTERPRISES, and show the current version number. You can also tell if it's installed by the default Pilot viewpoint, which will be slightly higher and at a higher zoom level.

Good day. The painting doesn't work for me, the machine is only pink checkered and I can't use it no matter what I do. So far any aircraft I have downloaded has worked. Please help. What might be the problem?

Make sure you installed the correct file in the COMMUNITY folder, as described above... Also, this could be caused by a conflict with some other mod or livery you have installed. Try dragging everything else from your COMMUNITY folder to a TEMP folder and see if the problem goes away... If it does, then drag the other mods back into the COMMUNITY folder one at a time to see which one is causing the problem.

Tip of the Day: In the real world, most competent pilots would not begin a flight without first checking the Fuel Level and the Weight and Balance of the aircraft, so you should do the same. Open the FUEL / W&B screen and set the fuel level to allow sufficient flight time and range for your planned flight. For safety, the more fuel the better, and most aircraft actually have better weight and balance with full tanks.

Also, in the real world you cannot change the Empty Weight CG location of an aircraft without changing the components or avionics installed on the aircraft, so you should NOT change the CG Slider on the W&B screen! To change the CG, redistribute or add station loads to the passenger or baggage compartments. Filling the fuel tanks or adding 50 lbs. to the Baggage 2 compartment will move the CG closer to the center of the allowable CG range when no rear passengers are on board. A more forward CG will improve the pitch stability, while an aft CG will improve the aircraft performance.

Here is a challenge to test your skills as a C172 pilot. All you have to do is take off and land at these two airports... I recommend starting at the Ramp.

Tip of the Day: Use this procedure to perform a wing low sideslip crosswind landing:

Set the Heading Bug to the runway heading for visual reference.
Apply and hold downwind rudder to maintain alignment with the runway heading.
Apply and hold upwind ailerons to bank into the wind and move the aircraft sideways to maintain lateral alignment with the runway center line.
Increase power as needed to maintain your descent rate.
Continue to hold downwind rudder and upwind ailerons after touchdown. Increase the rudder and aileron deflection as you slow down and they become less effective.

Hi, I was wondering if this mod is compatible with Just Flight's WB-Sim 172 enhancement mod?

No... The WB Sim 172 Enhancement mod includes the same modified flight model and engine files as this one, which would likely interfere with or overwrite each other.
