Coming from an X-Plane livery background, I've always been looking for the right paintscheme to attempt as my first for MSFS. Think I've chosen an interesting one to get to grips with!
This depicts the DC-6A as the VC-118A Liftmaster, which was delivered to the 1254th Air Transport Wing (ATW) in 1955. It was the primary Presidential transport for JFK and LBJ until its replacement by the VC-137. The VC-118A remained in use for flights into shorter runway airports, and often flew LBJ to his Texas ranch. It was used as a back-up aircraft, often flying adminstration staff and lower ranking VIPs. It was retired from use in 1973, and is on exhibition at Pima Air and Space Museum, Tuscon, Arizona.
