A small application to launch all Sim related apps such as vPilot, Volanta, etc. Just tell the app which other apps you want to run and then press Launch!

Currently the app is in the early stages of development, with more features in development.

Installation Instructions:

Unzip the folder to somewhere on your computer and run the FsLauncher.exe file. The first time you launch press the red “search for Steam” button which will look for steam. The same goes for the other button. Once both are green then it has found all it needs.

To add other apps, use the buttons at the top of the columns.

Upcoming Features:

Profiles/state saving

Copy files, e.g GSX sounds/textures

Notes:

When updating copy the paths.cvs file and then delete the whole folder. This stops you having to re add all the apps.

The latest version should now work with the Ms store version by leaving the steam button red, it should also work with other simulators, but this is not tested.

V1 is an almost complete re-write of the software using customtkinter by https://customtkinter.tomschimansky.com/.

Soooo needed...thank-you!!!

Some thoughts as I set it up:

1. The initial "Set your paths" need to be clearer to show that the first time you want us to locate flightsimulator.exe and the second steam.exe. I accidently set flightsimulator.exe twice. Hard to tell since the pop-up file id windows were identical except for title.
2. Tell the user that you have to close the program (better yet, do it for us if necessary) to update the window so we can add new programs.
3. Please identify what the filename is that we're looking for in the case of other files.
4. Please list out as "ghosted" titles those apps you support so we know what will work or not. The screenshot you posted isn't what I saw and I was wondering for a second if I did something wrong.
5. Is there an order to running the identified programs? That'd be good to know.
6. Consider profiles for different one-stop configurations of programs for different situations (Virtual Airline flying vs. small group STOL flights).
7. I added a program twice...probably need a IF...THEN check to prevent that. I just went in and manually edited the CSV file.

Good start for this app, thanks for posting. However every time I launch it I have to enable all the apps before hitting launch. I would like that it should at least persist all the apps you have selected, so you don't have to select them every time, otherwise it does not really save me much time. Profiles will be fine in the future, but right now it needs just one 'profile', which is what you last selected.

Thanks for downloading the app. I’ve not got the store version so wasn’t able to test. I’ll have a look into the issue over the coming days and see if I can find a solution. For now try deleting and re-download the app. When using it don’t look for steam just the MSFS executable. So the steam button should be red and the MSFS should be green. Hope this works but I’ll have a look through the code on my end.

Does it only works for steam?

Technically it only works with the steam version , but I'm currently writing V1 which should fix that. At the moment you can get around this by pointing it to steam and then the store version of MSFS. It will launch steam as well that can then be closed. If you don't have steam then the new version should hopefully be out this weekend (no guarantee unfortunately)

I agree, still lots of work. When you press scan does it open up the file explorer window and allow you to select steam.exe?

Another good thing to have would be profiles - since different planes would need different add-on software 😉

And that not every app is starting on the same time - since some apps should be started, after MSFS is up and running.

Thanks for your feedback! I am planning to add features such as remembering the last configuration you selected but the idea for setups for different adons is a great idea. I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks for the feedback! I wrote if for my self and decided to publish it here to see if anyone else would find it useful, hence the barebones nature. 1.I’m improving the initial setup to be clearer as well as only asking the user to find steam. 2.There should also be a fix ( hopefully soon) with the program updating 4.I’m currently not sure of any flies that flat out won’t work but due to the way it calls them to run I can imagine any that need specific files might not work. I can update a list of files as and when the become known. The screenshot just has the apps I use but since everyone uses different apps I left the install blank. 6. Aiming to add something like this. 7.That would also be a good ideas. I think it would be easy to add so should be fixed soon! Thanks for downloading and hope you find the app useful!
