The Iller is a small but lively river in the south of Germany in the Allgäu region. It rises in the mountains around the well-known winter sports resort of Oberstdorf and flows into the Danube near Ulm.
My goal is to bring some of the beautiful churches and monasteries along the Iller into the flight simulator.
In the summer I travel a lot and photograph everything that comes in front of my lens.
On long winter evenings I try to bring these objects into the flight simulator. I use Blender for this.
The resulting models are usually simple; but with thick textures and visually always based on the original.
Unfortunately, the resolution (mesh) of the landscape is not that good and so I tried to adjust the Iller a little. This is very difficult because the textures are sometimes very unclear.
Some buildings were embedded in the landscape - the MSFS SDK provides some tools for this. But nothing is perfect because:
Please only use the original mesh!
Old terraforming method
so that you see the same as me.
First included are:
Rot an der Rot Monastery
Village square Eintürnen Berg
Balzheim Castle Church
and about twenty churches e.g.
four large churches in Memmingen,
Illerkirchberg, Reichholzried, Schemmerberg and others
some churches are still in development e.g.
Over time, more churches and monasteries will be built; I will also develop a small library with standard churches that anyone who wants can place in their own scenery.
Added exclusion rectangle for all objects
07.11.23 Ottobeuren Basilica added...
