    A330 Light Fix Update - Image 1

    Description

    I have adjusted the taxi light, nose takeoff light, runway turnoff lights, and the strobes on the wings. The lights aren't perfect, I just wanted something since they were not working on my A330. This is the systems.csg file where I have adjusted the location of each of those light nodes. The taxi light is actually a landing light node but at least it works. Enjoy :)

     

    Update: I just uploaded the new systems.cfg file with better lights. For some reason, the nav lights and strobes disappear depending on what angle you're looking at or the heading of the aircraft, but I think I remember this being an issue in FSX as well and I don't know what the solution is. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the new lights :)

     

    How to install:

    Find your A330 folder. Mine is in the official folder instead of the community folder. Browse to your local files and click

    Microsoft Flight Simulator>Packages>Official>A330-300>SimObjects>AIRPLANES>Airbus_A330_300TR and then drag and drop the new files.

    When doing this, you should receive a prompt to "replace existing file in destination". You can save the old one somewhere else to back it up if you need to.

    I set the mod on the A330 from project Megapack. All the light are now lower than before, it doesn't work at all.

    ^^^ there appears to be a high probability that oyotet is a scammer of some sort. Has left a defamatory and derogatory comment on one of my uploads, when his/her profile shows that he/she could not have even downloaded it.

    Will this work for the A330neo on msfsaddon? i have it and am wondering if this and the liveries will work for it?

    not sure as I don't have that mod and haven't tried it. you can always download this and back up the .cfg files with the neo and see how it looks. if the model has the same dimensions as the a330 I used, the lights might work. if it doesn't, just put the original .cfg files back into the neo folder to restore it.

    I can't remember where I found it but it involved searching on Google and eventually finding the cloud drive where someone had left it to be downloaded.

    I replace the file requested but no light is visible, only wing light.. Can you advice what to do?

    The nav lights disappear for some reason depending on the angle and I have no fix for that, but if the lights are not working at all, it might have something to do with the fx files you have. It should work with the A330 lights that came with the aircraft package.

    Very cool....is there a way to make the strobes flash like the actual A330, but a single burst followed by rapid double bursts or rapid double burst like in the A32NX? Looking good..thanks very much!

    I guess that would involve finding a new light effect and putting it in the fx folder but I don't know where I would get it. Maybe if another airplane in MSFS has a similar strobe I could use that.

    Thanks for the reply. Managed to get dual bursts for the strobe lights. Turns out the code used one A32NX and A330 is similar, so all you have to do is to copy the "Effects" folder from A32NX and put that in the "Community --> A330-300" folder.

    Wish there was a way to get the ground reflections of the strobe lights. That feature is available now with A32NX v0.42

    Yeah feel free to change the effects, the main thing I intended to do was position the lights fairly accurately. The annoying thing is that with lift, the wings tips rise in flight and the lights do not. This was also an issue in FSX with some of my freeware airplanes.
