ORBX V2 YBBN Brisbane International UPDATED GSX Profile - Image 1

    Description

Update to tcastest's GSX Profile for ORBX's Brisbane International (V2)

    - Adjustments and additions to the GSX profile that comes with the scenery
    - Rear stairs passenger loading mapped at the Virgin Australia/Alliance & Qantas Domestic Terminals
    - Custom handler file and correct operators mapped for all airlines operating into Brisbane
    - These files will only work with ORBX's V2 version of YBBN, available via ORBX Central or their website.
    - If you purchased this via the MSFS MarketPlace, you will be missing the python file required for all of this to work properly.

    **PLEASE NOTE (Really Important!)**
    - This download only includes a replacement .ini file and a custom Handler file, you will already have the python file
    - To install, first delete your existing ybbn-orbx-v2.ini file (and only this file)
    - Paste the new .ini and handler.py file into the same location
    - DON'T DELETE THE ybbn-orbx-v2.py FILE created by tcastest - YOU WILL NEED TO KEEP THIS!
Once the above is complete, you will have three YBBN files installed:
    ybbn-orbx-v2.ini
    ybbn-orbx-v2_handler.py
    ybbn-orbx-v2.py

This updated GSX file and Handler file are only being updated for MSFS2024. It may work in 2020, but it has not been tested and is not guaranteed to match the profile for the 2020 version of this scenery.

The updated GSX Profile and Handler Profile have been configured as close to the real world as possible.
If you work at YBBN, and have found any errors, feel free to DM us, or leave a comment.
We spent a lot of time researching the handling operators at Brisbane Airport, and confident they are mostly correct.

    International Terminal:
    - No rear stairs passenger boarding mapped due to not being able to separate Heavy and Narrow Body boarding methods
    - All International airlines currently serving YBBN have been included in the Handler file as of October 2026
    - Cargo airlines using the remote apron have been included in the handler file

Alliance & Virgin Australia Domestic Terminal:

    - Rear stairs passenger boarding mapped on all gates with jetway access
    - Alliance flights using VOZ in their callsign identifier will use the same handling as Virgin Australia flights

    Jetstar/Common Airline Domestic Terminal:

    - Walk-in gates have been adjusted to better suit the scenery from the original profile
    - The three jetway gates have been updated with rear passenger boarding

    Qantas Domestic Terminal:

    - Rear stairs passenger boarding mapped on all gates with jetway access
    - QantasLink airlines have been included in the Handler file across both airline ICAO's (NWK & QLK)
    - Alliance flights using QLK in their callsign identifier will use the same handling as QantasLink flights

GA Stands, Hangar Aprons, Remote Stands & all pushbacks remain unchanged

The original GSX Profile for this airport was created by tcastest - you can find their other flightsim.to content in the link below:
    https://flightsim.to/profile/tcastest

For best results reposition your aircraft upon spawning at the desired position.
For worse results, uninstall the profile and don't use it (haha!!).

To Install, first delete the existing ybbn-orbx-v2.ini file.
Next, unzip (with WinRAR) and move the .ini and Handler.py files to the same location.
DO NOT DELETE ybbn-orbx-v2.py from your file directory, this must remain for these updates to work correctly.
If executed correctly, you will now have three YBBN files: The updated GSX Profile; The new Handler file & the existing python file.

    Preemptive FAQ'S:
Why is the python file not included with this upload?
    - You already have the python file in the GSX folder within the scenery files. We haven't made changes to the file and it's not our own work to upload and distribute.

Will these files work with the MSFS2020 version of the scenery?
    - From Version 2, all updates and changes are made in MSFS2024. While the scenery from ORBX appears to match, they are different files and not cross compatible and we can't guarantee these GSX profiles will work in the 2020 version of the sim. If they don't work in MSFS2020, requests to make it compatible will be denied.

Has the original creator of the GSX File been credited in this upload?
    - Yes. tcastest remains as the named creator within the profile, and we have only added our name as a modifier.
Note: The original file comes with the scenery and has not previously been uploaded to flightsim.to

Are the pushback procedures true to real world operations at YBBN?
    - The pushbacks mapped in the original profile remain unchanged. The real world procedures have been updated as of September 2026. Once we are able to obtain the exact updated real world procedures, they will be updated in this profile. To date they remain unchanged since before September 2026

Will updates be made to the Handler file if other carriers start operating out of YBBN?
    - We will check every few months to see if there are new carriers operating at this airport in the real world.

Why can't I choose the ground handling operator or catering company for my flight?
    - GSX uses the Handler file to read the Airline ICAO code from your Simbrief flight plan - If this is correct, the correct operators will load. You can't manually choose the operators while using these files. If you prefer to choose this yourself, remove the Handler.py file.

I've spawned at a Domestic gate with a jetway, but I don't have rear boarding stairs?
    - You need to ensure you have unchecked disable rear stairs when jetway is present in the GSX Global Settings. The only exception is Gate 24 where rear stairs boarding has been excluded due to this being designated as a heavy gate.

I didn’t create any of the pushbacks in this profile - but I’ll see if I can find info in the ground charts to make the changes, keep the VatSim controllers happy etc!

Removed the rear stair passenger boarding from the Qantas domestic terminal - have recently discovered QF don't use this boarding method at YBBN.

Thats actually completely incorrect please fix

You’re correct - as I have rediscovered. I’ve had 4 flights in and out of Brisbane in the last few weeks - rear stairs weren’t used on the first 3 flights and then they were on the 4th.
Am researching into when they’re used and if I can replicate that in the sim. I noticed they only seemed to have stairs around the pier and not for the gates directly at the terminal too - again will research that pattern also.

There are also walking path errors all over the Jetstar terminal that need fixing up - as I didn’t originally map these I assumed they were ok - but they’re sloppily done, so these will be fixed up in the next update also.

And the handler file will get a revamp - am going to add in fuel handling.

No ETA as of yet, but I have already started working on all of the above and will release it as soon as it’s completed.

I downloaded the gsx proflie from tcastest because I never had the original - the 2020 ynnb-AusFS & ybbn-AusFS.py. There were no orbx labelled files. Does he have a 2024 version? because it doesn't come up under his name. I found Gate 40A & B seem to work but alot of the others are half in the ground. TIA

The original profiles come with the scenery, you'll find the folder in the main parent directory.
You only need the python file from the original set.

    Historique des versions

Major adjustments made across the Jetstar and Qantas Domestic Terminals: - Adjusted the walk-in paths at the Jetstar Terminal, these were previously unchanged from the original profile and have now been updated to better suit the scenery. - Moved the stairs parking positions to avoid walking paths and clipping the annoying non-removal static GSE where possible (Why do devs include this stupid GSE that you can't remove! And always in the stupidest positioning! It's just, well, Stupid!). - Brought back the rear stair boarding at the Qantas Terminal - it was previously thought this boarding method wasn't used by the airline due to rear stairs not being used in real world situations while flying Qantas from this airport. After 4 flights in and out IRL, the 4th flight did indeed use rear stair boarding. Brand New Handler File: - Includes refueling handling. At present the only operator option true to YBBN is BP Air Services and has been made as the default. As new operator liveries become available, they will be added and updated in the profile. - Added Hong Kong Air Cargo (please note: information regarding the actual ground handling operator is not publicly available, so made a guess and assigned Swissport. If you work at YBBN and know the actual ground handling company used please reach out and let us know so we can update the profile accordingly). Sim Version: - Removed MSFS2020 support due to the above updates made in MSFS2024. We can no longer guarantee these files will work with the MSFS2020 version of this scenery - they may work, but we have no way of testing to confirm. What's next?: - Fully updated and adjusted Python File to fix errors with aircraft positioning at the International Terminal. Once complete, this profile will be included in the files (there is no target date for this). - Review of all jetway walking paths to eliminate any mismatched height settings, if any. - Updated pushback procedures to match the real world.
