GateFinder V1.6 - Official Release Changelog New Features & Enhancements Multi-Community Folder & Secondary Path Support (MSFS 2024 / SU4+) Added separate input fields in Settings for Primary MSFS Community Folder and Custom / Secondary Folder (e.g., Community2024, Addon Linker, or secondary drive paths). Unified scanner scans both configured paths and all sibling directories (Community, Community2024, Official2020, Official2024). The in-game GateFinder panel automatically deploys to all configured Community folders. Virtual Airline (VA) & Freight Operations Support Expanded cargo carrier detection for Virtual Airlines (including keywords like FREIGHTER, CARGO, ALL-CARGO, PACK, FEDEX, UPS, DHL, FREIGHT). Added Force Cargo Mode (Always assign Cargo Apron) option in Settings UI for dedicated cargo pilots. Universal cargo rules for OpenStreetMap airports (assigning non-jetway stands or dedicated cargo ramps when flying cargo). Dynamic Resolution & Improved UI Layout Settings UI automatically adapts its size to your monitor resolution (85% height), ensuring 100% compatibility with laptops (768p / 900p / 1080p / 4K) and high Windows scaling. Integrated smooth scrollable settings container with Save & Close, Cancel, and Uninstall buttons permanently pinned to the bottom of the window. Dedicated row and button for In-game Gate Finder Panel installation. Upgraded OpenStreetMap (OSM) Online Fallback Engine Fast coordinate-based queries (around:5000, lat, lon) using SimBrief flight plan coordinates (accelerating online fallback lookups from 25s+ down to ~1s). Multi-endpoint mirror fallback (overpass.kumi.systems, overpass-api.de) and SSL unverified context to bypass ISP/firewall restrictions and Windows certificate errors. Clear UI guidance instructing users without GSX profiles to run the built-in scenery scanner. Community Airport Contribution Manager Generated contribution JSON files (GateFinder_Contribution.json) are now saved directly in GateFinder's main application directory. Intelligent contribution tracking remembers shared airport profiles, automatically updating the button state to Community DB is Up to Date once submitted. Bug Fixes & Refinements GSX Split Stand Position Letter Fix (L / R / C) Fixed an issue where split gate position names (e.g., Stand L 12, Gate R 15) generated fictitious labels like Terminal L or Terminal R. GateFinder now correctly strips split stand letters and returns accurate zones and Main Apron designations. SimBrief Connection Test Handling Fixed false "Connection Failed" messages when testing valid SimBrief Pilot IDs that do not have an active generated flight plan on file. Clean Manual Database Scan Workflow Removed automatic scanning on launch so the app opens with a clean initial state. Scanning remains 100% manual via the Scan Installed Airports button. Removed emoji/checkbox formatting symbols from scan summary labels for a clean, professional aesthetic.

Makes it very easy to find company gates.
Would be nice to add more from the contributions.
So we can have a bigger network.

GateFinder is mainly designed to automatically find realistic, airline-specific gates for pilots who don't have a specific gate assigned yet.
While GSX code doesn't allow external apps to force gate selection automatically, GateFinder finds the perfect gate for your aircraft so you can easily pick it in GSX. If you fly on VATSIM/IVAO or use ATC addons (like BeyondATC or SayIntentions), you can use GateFinder to check for free gates or request the assigned gate from ATC!

You’re totally right : some GSX profiles use `L`, `R`, or `C` for Left, Right, or Center stand positions (like `L 12` or `Stand R 5`). My parser was accidentally picking up that `L` or `R` as a terminal letter, which caused those weird "Terminal L" or "Terminal R" labels!
I’ve just fixed the parser to properly handle Left/Right/Center gate positions so it now shows the real Zone or Main Apron instead. I'll drop this fix in the upcoming update!

Here’s the deal with both points:
1. **2 Community Folders**: GateFinder already scans both `Community` and `Community2024` automatically as long as they're in the same MSFS parent folder. That said, I'm adding full multi-folder selection in the upcoming 1.6 update so you can easily pick custom paths from different drives!
2. **Wacatac Warning**: That's a classic false positive from Windows Defender's machine learning. PyInstaller (which I use to package the app) gets flagged by Defender sometimes because the app isn’t digitally signed with a paid certificate. The code is 100% safe and open-source on GitHub—you can safely restore it and add an exclusion for `GateFinder.exe` in Windows Security.
Both improvements will be included in the next update coming very soon! Hope that helps, let me know if you run into anything else.

In the 1.5 update, I actually rolled out a "Universal Cargo Rule" along with support for Virtual Airlines (including fictitious and custom ones like Walker, FlyUK, AFV, etc.).
If you were placed at a passenger gate, it’s usually because SimBrief passed a standard passenger aircraft code (like `B763` or `B77L` instead of `B763F` or `B77F`), so GateFinder didn’t catch that it was a freighter.
Out of curiosity, which airline and aircraft were you flying when this happened?
For the 1.6 update, I’m expanding the freighter auto-detection to catch more custom airframes and adding a "Cargo Mode toggle" right in the UI so you can manually force Cargo Apron parking anytime, no matter what plane or virtual airline you’re flying!
