    Caribbean Island Hopping with the Goose Bush Trip - Image 1

    Description

    During this island hopping tour you will fly from the Greater Antilles, starting in Punta Cana in the Dominicanian Republic, to the Lesser Antilles via Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands (both British and US) and Saint Martin. Your final stop is the very short runway at Saba island.

    Along the tour you will mainly use seaplane bases and water runways have been created accordingly. The anker symbol in the VFR map points to the pier or dock location (if there is any in real life).

    This bushtrip would not have been possible without BuffyGC's BushTripInjector and his continued support for my projects.

    TIPS AND TRICKS

    • This bush trip is intendeted for the Grumman Goose G21A Redux II (0.9.9) by OZWookie.
    • Place your landings inside the red squares marked in the navlog and switch off your engines to make sure the leg completion is recognized.
    • As the water is very shallow in places, make sure to land smoothly. Otherwise you might beach the aircraft!

    I love this plane, adapted from the the old FSX stable. My criticism is that in its current form, it is virtually unsteerable on water. Asobo aircraft are steerable, so it seems that it could be updated, but it seems that the developer has decided to move on to other projects. Unless you leave yourself enough water ahead when you land to be able to take-off for the next leg, you will have to repeat the previous leg and hope your next landing does the trick. Frustrating.

    I have tried everything mentioned here and this bush trip does not show up in the msfs2020 bush trip activities . I have the newest Goose redux 2 and I can fly it . I've deleted your folder and then copied it back to the Community folder and no results. I can click click click to your .pln file and it does load a flight plan but does so with the last plane I flew. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

    Hi! I noticed a few spelling mistakes in the "loc" files. If you'd like me to share those edits with you, let me know the best way to do that.

    Such a fun trip - hopefully more will be created for the Goose!

    5 stars - Thank you for creating and sharing! 😊

    Edit: I also modified the FLT file to allow Live weather to be set in-flight. Might be a nice feature to enable for others. Certainly made the trip more challenging! 🌩

    Would you mind sharing how you edited the FLT file to allow for live weather?

    By far the best way of creating and modifying Bush Trips is the excellent BushTripInjector: https://flightsim.to/file/4131/bushtripinjector

    Has a full User interface for modifying just about every aspect of a Bush Trip. Highly recommended!

    To modify weather settings, open the FLT file in the Bush Trip folder and update the Weather section

    Setting "Use Live Weather" to True makes Live Weather default (not recommended).

    Setting "Weather Can be live" = True allows the user to access the weather controls in flight, so they can toggle this on and off.

    [Weather]

    UseWeatherFile=False

    UseLiveWeather=False

    WeatherPresetFile=.\WeatherPresets\ClearSky.WPR

    WeatherCanBeLive=True

    I do not understand why I should change the weather settings? It is set to LIVE and can always be changed by the user once in the plane?

    Hi, I was replying to CapKirkBB's request :)

    I don't recall being able to modify weather settings in the original version (hence why I modified the FLT file), but if it's there, that's great!

    I have teste with SU5 and it works fine. Maybe remove it from community and restart MSFS and add it in again. MSFS is picky soemtimes with addons.

    I think it was something to do with my mod manager. It works just fine now. I love it, thank you for your work :) I changed my review to 5*

    This is SU5 compatible. And now also compatible with the new version of the Goose (0.9.9).
