Looks of the mountains are definitely improved. But very severe stuttering on my machine. I have an i7 4790k, 32 GB RAM and an RX 580.

It seems that the stutters are caused by windows moving contents of the ram to the pagefile (which is on my very slow hdd, duh). Without the dem meshes installed, this does not happen. In particular, without the meshes the ram usage of the simulator is more or less constant. With the meshes enabled it rises slowly but steadily until it reaches some threshold which is when windows moves it out again and stutters happen. After that, the cycle begins again. My guess is that this is either a memory leak (can't exclude that but I'd expect this to be unlikely) or data is loaded from the disk into the ram. Looking at the disk usage of the simulator between the stutters there are always some meshes under the few biggest culprits. Interestingly, the dem regions are neither constant nor correlated with the region I'm currently flying in. The regions change all couple of seconds and I saw it eg load the dolomites when i was flying at very low altitudes around Zurich.

Just a wild guess here. I know that msfs needs as much ram as it can get. Or, put differently, limits its ram usage based on the available ram. Maybe there's something off in that calculation when the meshes need to be loaded and msfs allocates more ram than it should?

Are these mods redundant now? Everyone i've tried causes unbearable stutterimg.

Moin Troglodytus, bezugnehmend auf das, was Liml2020 unten geschrieben habe, ich kann ähnliche Erfahrungen berichten, zwar keine regelmäßigen Abstürze, aber ein extremes Hängenbleiben und Audiostottern, teilweise über Sekunden, und das leider auch im Austria 20m Dem, im Schweiz Dem... und wahrscheinlich bei den anderen DEMs genauso.

Ich weiss nicht ob es am World Update 7 liegt, aber der Zeitpunkt kommt hin: Als die Twin Otter am 19. Januar rauskam, lief alles noch wunderbar, heute wollte ich wieder durch die Alpen fliegen, komplette Katastrophe. Ich habe als Beispielflugroute für das Italien-DEM die Route Asiago LIDA nach Trento Matarello LIDT gewählt. Egal mit welchem Flugzeug, egal mit Multiplayer oder ohne, egal welches Wettersetting, das System stottert sich einen ab, als ob man versehentlich 3 unterschiedliche DEMS übereinander installiert hätte. Sim Rate erhöhen provoziert das Stottern ebenfalls.

Deaktivieren der Troglodytus-Alpen-DEMs behebt das Problem sofort (content.xml zwischendurch immer gelöscht)

Mein System ist ein 5900x und eine 3080ti, die haben das in Vergangenheit mit Bravour gepackt, auch liegen die Mods alle auf einer m.2 SSD.

Ich bin jetzt verschiedene Bereiche abgeflogen, die Performance aller DEMs von Mikea.at, Dir oder teilweise auch Taburet hat stark nachgelassen. Bei den sogenannten "Meshs" von Orbx für den Himalaya, Neuseeland, Island oder Alaska bemerke ich keine Einbußen...

Da ist also irgendetwas grundsätzlich seltsam auf einmal, daher würde ich den Sachverhalt erstmal nicht im Speziellen auf das Italy DEM schieben :(

Ich denke zuerst müsste man rausfinden, was denn plötzlich anders ist, und warum ein 500mb 20m DEM einen High-End-Rechner plötzlich mehr belastet als ein Flug über 10 Gigabyte Photogrammetriedaten für eine heruntergeladene Großstadt... und am Ende auch die Fragestellung, ob ein Rekompilieren hier Besserung bringt (wobei Italien sich als eines der kleineren DEMs ja als Testobjekt anbieten würde)
