    A quick tutorial by Daniel on how to operated the JTA <3

    The C172 JT-A is a C172 S with a new engine. The JT-A is faster, while burning less fuel than the C172S. No needing to play with the mixture or worry about density atlitude. The 155hp turbo diesel engine with FADEC makes flying the JT-A almost feel like cheating. 

     

    1. ENGINE

    This C172 has the Continental CD155 155 HP engine. This is a turbocharged diesel engine controled by a FADEC, similar to the DA40TDI, but with 20 more ponies. The sound file is from the DA40NG. The FADEC runs just like the DA40 and DA62 Mods. No need to control mixture and prop. 

    • Accurate engine performance in relation to pressure altitude and temperature
    • Accurate fuel flows
    • Custom engine and oil temperature simultion with thermostat and oil/water heat exchanger
    • Added oil and fuel starvation when flying inverted.

    2. Flightmodel

    • Faster cruise speeds at higher altitudes 
    • Smoother less twitchy control compared to default
    • Improved Cl table and stall characteristics
    • Increased flap lift, drag and moment
    • Increase pitch up and p-factor from the engine
    • Tighter turn radius on the ground
    • More accurate susspension and sitting attitude 

    3. Compatible with WT G1000 NXi

    • Added systems and fuel page with funtional fuel totaliser
    • Correct engine and custom ammeter indications
    • CAS messages added for engine, failures and other systems.

    4. Systems

    • ECU run-up
    • Functional windshield defrost 
    • Simulated fuel/gearbox temperature
    • Improved autopilot PIDs with correct lateral and vertical limitations

    I got it installed finally figured it out how... no help from you. Riems rocket is way better this is just pure rubbish and you wont get any help here too boot is what this content should be booted.

    Hello, thanks for this addon. Unfortuanetely my propeller is not working, the thrust lever is always set to 100% even if I do inputs with my throttle quadrant. It is always in the "TOGA" position and I cant change anything. I tried setting different key bindings for the control but it won't work. I would be thankful for any help

    I am pretty sure that if your engine switches are off on your sim controls, then the starter engageed message does not show up

    It flies nice, but the starter engaged message is always shown and it does not go any faster than a normal Cessna. I was under the impression that with the diesel, it will go faster, but it does not. Also, I am unable to switch off the engine from the cockpit. Besides that, physics are great and I love the plane

    Has anybody managed to make liveries for this in MSFS 2024? When I use custom liveries (both from FS.to and self-made) the throttle doesn't move with the axis, and it moves erratically from idle to full power and back again. It says "Prop axis see FAQ on flightsim.to" but I can't find any FAQ!

    Glad that I finally found a C172 Diesel. Thnxs for the great work, flies perfect !
    Few questions, maybe you can help: Engine fires as soon as the MASTER BAT is on, PUS H TO START is inop, ENGINE MASTER cannot be switched off. Red STARTER ENGD warning is cont. ON.
    Any idea how to fix ? Thnxs a lot !

    Hi,
    i just saw that you are glad that you finally found this aircraft.
    Same for me. We have that one in our club. Now i am thinking about to make it work with YourControls (shared flight). Would you be interessted to give it a try. I would need someone having MSFS2020 running with the C172 JT-A .
    We would try to change the parameters required for the Diesel Engine.

    Any chance to help me with the settings. Throttle dosn't move at all. Assigned throttle axis and also throttle axix for prop 1, but nothing changes. Any chance to let me know which axis to assign? Best reagards

    engine start could be more realistic like late ignition one of the piston cold start diesel engine effect .

    Have you seen an aviation diesel engine start??
    The chance of actually catching a cylinder missing or misfiring is about a million to one.
    Odds are much higher that a comparable old fashioned gas burning engine doesn’t cough to live on all four or six cylinders.

    Did a high altitude test and ran her empty at 18000 feet. She went 1100 miles with a 12 knot head wind averaging around 125 knot GS. After she ran out of fuel did a glide test at 70 knots. If I calculated the ratio correctly it was roughly 8 to 1. Really have been enjoying this mod. Well done. Great cross country flyer for day trips is more realistic. As diesel engine become more popular, I think we'll see more mods like this.

    I've just come to MSFS24 and was gutted to see that Deejing's lovely planes are not compatible with 2024.... BUT, was delighted to see that this fabulous JT-A 172 (which I flew many 100s of hours in in 2020) is compatible! Thanks so much.

    the best C172 for MSFS!
    Would be even better if there was a G3X option instead of G1000.
    (I don't know how much of a work is to put G3X in this amazing plane)

    Is the G3X even certified for the C172? I thought it was only used in expreimental and/or LSA planes?
