Description
In 1995 VF-84 was disbanded, VF-103 Sluggers changed their name and insignas to VF-103 Jolly Rogers to keep the famous Skull and Bones alive.
This livery is of the 103 aircraft BuNo 163217 on their final cruise with Tomcat in 2004.
FEAR THE BONES!
Helmets paint is based on VF-103 HGU-55 style helmets from their final Tomcat deployment.

I'm running into an issue where the cockpit changes to a pink placeholder texture when zooming out past a certain camera distance (~50-80 feet).

Hmm. This is not an issue I have noticed and am unable to replicate it. Is it just for this livery?

The pink cockpit texture shows up for this particular livery as well as the F14 Top Gun livery by Jeppeson2001. Hmm, it could very well be a conflict with another livery or mod in my community folder for all I know. Will do more testing.

Here's a video link of what is occurring on my end:
The first shot is the VF-103 livery (which is awesome btw!) and the next is one of the default liveries that come with the F14. I noticed there is a shift in windshield texture that happens on the original and I wonder if that's the problem? Maybe there is a texture that is being overwritten or missing when a custom livery is used?

I haven't touched anything related to the cockpit so why it's getting a missing texture is odd. Hard for me to fix if I can't repeat it to figure out what's going on though sadly.

I may have found the cause of the issue. I was still using version 1.0. I have updated to 1.0.1 of the F14 and now have this issue. I believe I know how to fix it and will address it in the next update. Just working on a few minor details before I release it.

Thank you SO much for all of your repaints👌! As a retired Navy CPO who worked on many of the Cold War Era aircraft as a ejection seat mech, I really enjoy flight simulation, because it revives memories of the best times of my life. AMEC(AW), USN, (Ret.)

Too many small details are missing. Hopefully another update is coming, especially on the paint under the nose. It shouldn't be grayed out.

The lighter color under the nose is just from the paint kit included with the aircraft. I am working on a revised version of it.

Purely out of curiosity, how difficult would it be to modify a livery to display a specific pilot's name using this paint kit? I had a relative on the Blue Angels Team in the late 50s early 60s and would love to see his name on a plane.... also I think many of us pretend Mavericks at home would get a kick out of being able to display their own personal handles. I've never used a paint kit so I don't know what it can do, is it possible?

-added missing TCS texture to chin pod. -added wind tip formation lights (note, they are painted to match the aircrafts lights when on rather than the real aircrafts) -added static model texture. This will keep the cockpit from switching to the glowing pink missing texture placeholder or other players entire plane turning pink at a distance. -edited yellow tail marking to more closely resemble real aircraft. -increased resolution of wings to make "103" less pixelated. Still not perfect but its better than it was. This should be the last update for this livery other than patches to make sure it continues to work with any changes that DC Designs may make. Sorry for so many updates. I just want this livery to be the best it possibly can be.
