Hey,
this is my fifth mod for MSFS20.
Since the last World Update, which included Austria too, was a bit disappointing because I was hoping for better aerial images around the Zeltweg region, I decided to improve at least the airbase area with an high resolution image from google maps.
This mod replaces the default bing aerial image of the Zeltweg Airbase LOXZ in Austria with the one from Google Maps with much higher resolution and better ground details. Much more details are now visible on the ground especially the casern (military base) part south-east of the airport. Unfortunately the dark part at the end of the runway (west) is still there...
I'm also working on an LOXZ overhaul for quiet some time now and once I'm happy enough with my work I'll publish it here as well. Once published, this mod is highly recommended to use in combination with the LOXZ overhaul. Please don't ask me when it will come, because I can't give a exact date, since my life is very busy and I don't plan to constantly mod for msfs20. I mod for fun and when I have the motivation and time to do so. So pretty common that I will pause working on projects now and then for days, weeks or months.^^
INSTALL: Simply extract into Community folder as usual.

There's an issue with this scenery regarding AIRACS and IFR procedures. With this scenery activated, all procedures are missing.

Any chance that you would consider to create LOXT Langenlebarn AB as well?

During my serving time I was stationed in LOXZ as an military aircraft refuelling operator, therefore I know how everything looks like and how LOXZ works in general. On the other side, I've never been to LOXT. At the moment I'm not considering an LOXT rework simply because I've no relation to it and don't know how things look and work there, but the sim is still young and who knows.^^

Something else: could you adjust the grren tones of the grass more towards the lower saturated grren tones of the vanilla textures of that region. That way it would blend in even better.

I won't do that because I enjoy it more the way it is now... the default aerial image is just garbage and not very nice to look at. Also the difference isn't too much eye-catching in the sim in my opinion.

Hey, thanks a lot for putting some love into Zeltweg. It´s one of the longest requests for Austria, i think. Good to see, someone is picking it up.

If you are into this region, maybe you wanna polish the racetrack too?
It´s really terrible in the vanilla sim and could need a brush-up too. If you could do so, please don´t forget the huge bull sculpture there, too...
Anyway, looking forward to any progress.
Edit: rating downgraded due to a not so fantastic start and no further development ...
Luckily, we got a much better representation of this location available yet.

I indeed already played with the thought of giving the Red Bull Ring a nice touch too since I'm also a very big F1 fan and like motorsport in general. I'm not sure how this will play out since I would have to do a lot of modelling in first place for the grandstands, the race track as well as the whole buildings at the main straight and of course the iconic bull statue. =)

If you just could do a tiny bit, it would be much better than vanilla anyways. Like, removing the grass and buildings from the track, replacing those "houses" close to the track, anything will look better that the vanilla version for sure.
For sure, it´s got the lowest priority in the region.
And after that, how about an "AirPower" version of the scenery, with lots of planes displayed on the ground and lots of visitors watching the airshows?
USA has got Oshkosh every year, called SimVenture for all flightsims. They have nice sceneries, to increase the festival´s immersion.
Maybe one for our Airpower - which is the biggest airshow in Europe i think - would be an fantastic thing to have, too.
