    Description

    Native build of the awesome Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird with some working gauges, animated flight stick, throttle, landing gear.

    From Wikipedia: "The Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" is a long-range, high-altitude, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed and manufactured by the American aerospace company Lockheed Corporation. It was operated by both the United States Air Force (USAF) and NASA.The SR-71 was developed as a black project from the Lockheed A-12 reconnaissance aircraft during the 1960s by Lockheed's Skunk Works division."

    I also love how it was used by the X-Men :-)

    We tried to make it fast but it's probably not as fast as the real Blackbird. Or have a realistic flight model.

    Version 1.2 - fixed issue with v1.1 where plane not selectable. Just noticed throttle animation not working properly so that's a known issue.

    The gear does not retract. No autopilot whatsoever. Exterior view is so close to the plane that you can't see anything else

    I modified the flight model and engines, now the plane is stable and reaches 100 000 feet which is the limit. Speed up to 5000 kts.

    This thing isn't all that bad considering it's free and a legacy version. TIP: If you're using the "elevator trim AXIS" (as you would with a slider control like the one on the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle), try reversing it to get the elevator trim to behave correctly. However, if you're using buttons or a trim wheel (like on the Homeycomb Bravo throttle quadrant), that seems to work correctly.

    The above-mentioned slider & axis combo works great as a coarse trim, and the buttons or trim wheel work great as a fine trim.

    I'd LOVE to see this thing cleaned up and refined a little. Doing so wouldn't require much work to achieve big gains.

    Since no one seems to be mentioning it, one of the biggest issues is that the trim auto set itself to ~-40% and I can't adjust the trim at all in this air craft...so the thing constantly wants to nosedive on its own. Makes it a huge pain to even try to fly. If you can get let us adjust the trim in the aircraft, it'll automatically make it 10 times better than it currently is.
