Description
Ok. And so we move on. We have had the British Hawker Hurricane, The German BF109 and so we move to The American. the Curtiss P40 Tomahawk.
As are all the others this is a work in progress.
The P-40 was the U.S. Army’s most capable fighter at the dawn of World War II. The P-40 Tomahawk, a modified version of the older P-36 Hawk, flew for the first time in 1938. Because of this heritage, the plane was relatively easy to produce and could be hurried into service. This fighter type is particularly notable for being the shark-mouthed choice of the famed American Volunteer Group, known as the “Flying Tigers.”
After Pearl Harbor, the P-40 was often outmatched by more advanced or capable enemy fighters but its low cost kept the plane in production long after other fighters had technologically surpassed it. More effective at low altitudes, many P-40s were sent to Russia as part of Lend-Lease programs. 13,738 P-40 type fighters were produced by the end of 1944.
Just a small update.

Many Thx from Warstein in Germany

The flight model is too benign. There was nothing consistent I could find about the Tomahawk's stall speed but I got this plane down to 70 knots, zero throttle and it wouldn't stall. Just losing 100fpm.
Still, it's a bit of fun!

I am an old hand at flight sims and I must compliment the author of this P-40! A very nice job. I am sure as time progresses and Asobo releases their SDK, the cockpit interior will be improved, but it is fine now as a new entry. The plane handles very nicely and I love the quaking and creaking sounds on the airframe. If I could give the author one suggestion it would be to take the bounciness out of the landings. I can land most planes buttery smooth but there needs to be a little more shock absorber action or less spring rates in the landing gear. Again, very nice job. I am very pleased with this new third-party offering of an old WWII/China Campaign gal.

Plane looks nice but stick doesn't move with the aileron/elevator and theres no battery master switch so you can't start the engine without AI assistance. Pedals only visually move when applying left rudder.

Wow! even the colors are correctly reproduced. The noses were red before and after the war, but they are yellow or green depends on the camo during the war time. Many people made mistakes but this one is 100% correct.

Junkers JU87 Stuka Dive Bomber
The Junkers Ju 87 or Stuka (from Sturzkampfflugzeug, "dive bomber") was a German dive bomber and ground-attack aircraft. Designed by Hermann Pohlmann, it first flew in 1935. The Ju 87 made its combat debut in 1937 with the Luftwaffe's Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War of 1936–1939 and served the Axis in World War II from beginning to end (1939–1945). The aircraft is easily recognisable by its inverted gull wings and fixed spatted undercarriage. Upon the leading edges of its faired main gear legs were mounted ram-air sirens known as Jericho trumpets [de], which became a propaganda symbol of German air power and of the so-called Blitzkrieg victories of 1939–1942, as well as providing Stuka pilots with audible feedback as to speed. The Stuka's design included several innovations, including automatic pull-up dive brakes under both wings to ensure that the aircraft recovered from its attack dive even if the pilot blacked out from the high g-forces.
