Description
Note: Previous Water exclusions have failed to function starting with the release of SU12 (March 2023); this version needs an update to properly function with World Update XIII.
This mod applies exclusion polygons to areas covered in water in order to uncover them. It also removes erroneously placed trees around water areas. No scenery objects were added.
This mod fixes the following issues to the default scenery located around Charleston, South Carolina, USA. It primarily covers areas around the Cooper River, Ashley River, and some coastal areas.
I do not use other freeware or payware in the area, so I don't know if this conflicts with other third party mods.
V1.0 Release notes, fixes the following areas:
- Revived sunken roads and bridges throughout
- Restored visibility of the pier at Fort Sumter National Monument and Folly Beach, as well as corrected the shoreline along that beach.
- Restored visibility of various larger docks, boats, piers, marinas, and pontoons along the Cooper River and parts of the Ashley River
- Uncovered small sunken islands at Goose Creek Reservoir
- Removed excess vegetation at Charleston Afb/Intl
- Fixed issue of bridges appearing underwater
- Basically everywhere you see RED in the screenshot, I uncovered water or removed vegetation

The update looks awesome and much needed. Thank you for the update. But what program or modification process did you use to change the vegetation? I know the area real well being a local, and Mount Pleasant Regional(LRO) just to the north sorely needs some airfield clean up with inaccurate tree/vegetation. And there is a healthy amount of marsh trees just north of the Isle of Palms connector all the way up towards Bulls Bay that are unrealistic to the area, whereas to the south of the connector it looks quite realistic. I'd like to be able to remove/adjust those parameters if you have any insight, or even request a clean up if you felt so inclined. Thank you and keep up the good work, cheers!

As far as vegetation, I basically removed foliage from areas near water where they obviously don’t belong, such as boats, docks, buildings.

Thank you. I am quite new to the developer mode, but your work has inspired me to try and clean up the previously mentioned overgrowth. Cheers!

Worldwide Water Fix (WIP)
This add-on is a work-in-progress project for MSFS 2024 focusing on correcting water elevation issues encountered globally. The developer addresses problems as they are discovered during flights rather than systematically reviewing every location. Users can expect ongoing updates to enhance water accuracy throughout the simulators lifespan.
