LGKO Kos - Remove Static Aircrafts [unofficial] - Image 1

    Description

This little patch will remove the static aircrafts at GAYA LGKO Kos International Airport.

Stands which had statics on them will not be selectable as departures, as there is no underlaying parking information for the simulator (and cannot be added).
This stands can now be used as an arrival stand, though.

    Installation:

    • Copy the folder inside the zip into your community folder.
    • Please keep the leading "zzz", as the packages will be sorted in alphabetic order

    Notes:

    • The mod has only been tested with the standalone version
    • The original airport is not edited
    • No files / models from the original addon (or any other package) have been used
    • Both aircrafts across the runway (not in the terminal area) have been kept.
    • The busses at S2 and S3 have been kept (the first 3 busses are at the stop bar of the stands and could be removed)
    • content.xml is not used anymore since SU10 (there are exceptions), so it is even more important to keep the leading "zzz" as the addons are now sorted in an alphabetic order. If your scenery gets removed then check if you have kept the "zzz". If this happens for a marketplace version it might be that those are loaded second after the community folder (I'm not entirely sure about the loading order official vs. community)

Checked today, no update needed. I have to admit I should've set the compatibility to better show this.

Is something not working for you?

I've not used it as my sim tends to crash if I use addons that aren't updated. I'll give it a go now. Thanks for the reply

Could you also remove the planes in LGSK (ORBX)? It would be very nice

I actually tried that and it works to some extend, but OrbX designed the airport in a way that it is almost impossible to remove those statics (poor design choice with overlapping origin of objects etc.)

Long story short: When you have the airport in OrbX Central (so not via marketplace) there is a configure button where you can select "No static".

If it is not there you can check your folder of the airport for layout.json.nostatic and xml placements_Aircraft.bgl.nostatic.

You would have to remove the .nostatic and rename the ones without .nostatic to .static

    (e.g. layout.json -> layout.json.static / layout.json.nostatic -> layout.json)

Thanks - been waiting for this. Don't suppose you could have a go at Orbx Leeds Bradford could you?

Unfortunately I don't have that scenery right now, but if it is build the same way as other OrbX sceneries than it should definitely be possible. I can take a look in the future, but I cannot give you any time frame.

Would it be possible for you to share how you remove the statics please? I have Leeds/Bradford and would also like to remove the static aircraft there

LGKO Kos - Remove Static Aircrafts [unofficial]

A patch to remove static aircrafts at GAYA LGKO Kos International Airport, allowing for dynamic arrival stand use. This mod is designed for the standalone version of the simulator and keeps original airport untouched, retaining certain aircrafts and buses. Remember to preserve the leading "zzz" when installing in your community folder.
