 El Aeropuerto Brigadier Mayor Juan Facundo Quiroga o Chilecito está localizado en la provincia de La Rioja - Argentina, se encuentra a 7,2 kilómetros al SE de la ciudad de Chilecito y a 68 kilómetros hacia el noroeste de la Ciudad de La Rioja. Las siguientes rutas se encuentran cercanas al aeropuerto: Ruta Nacional 40, Ruta Provincial 15, RN 74, RN 78, RP 1 y RN 75.

 Por el momento solo cuenta con vuelos privados, pero se estima que van a comenzar a realizar vuelos comerciales regulares una vez este habilitado el aeropuerto.

 La ciudad Chilecito es la segunda en importancia de La Rioja, aunque en sus calles, paseos, casas y monumentos persiste la típica calidez pueblerina. Se encuentra situada en el Valle Antinaco-Los Colorados, encerrado por los cordones de la sierra de Velasco, al este, y la sierra de Famatina, al oeste.

 La mayor superficie agraria se destina al cultivo de la vid y el olivo, mientras que la actividad industrial más significativa está constituida por las bodegas; también se cultivan nogales y frutales, cuyos productos se procesan localmente.

 The largest agricultural area is devoted to the cultivation of grapes and olives, while the most significant industrial activity is made up of wineries; walnut and fruit trees are also grown, the products of which are processed locally.
