Southwest Airlines "Classic One" w/Cabin PMDG 737-7H4 - Image 1

    Description

Southwest Airlines "Classic One" for the PMDG Boeing 737-700.

     Features:
    • Custom Southwest Airlines cabin
    • Accurate SWA-specific stencils
    • Realistic SWA aircraft/equipment configurations pre-installed
    • Cockpit and exterior weathering
    • Improved textures and metallics
    • Southwest Airlines cockpit decals and placards (IDG Stickers, CATIII plate, Broadband Wifi Panel, Airworthiness/Registration Information, Yoke Evacuation Checklist, etc)
    • Southwest Airlines pushback tug
    • Paintkit/Base textures improvement in partnership of Atarium Liveries and Comet Liveries

    Installation:

    1.

    - Open the PMDG Operations Center v2.

    - Aircraft and Liveries > Livery Utilities > Installed Products > PMDG 737-700 > Install Livery from PTP.

    - Delete any previously installed iterations of the livery.

    - Select the "N714CB - Classic One" .ptp file to install

    2. Because aircraft configurations don't always save properly, I've created a "Southwest Airlines 737NG Configurations" document to assist in setting up SWA liveries to correctly mimic their real-world counterparts. Verified by Southwest 737 pilots as well as other 737 pilots. It is included in the download, and you can also view it via this link: SWA 737NG Configurations

Would you be willing to update this to MSFS24?

Great Livery, it looks outstanding as always with your work!

I do however have an issue. I installed the livery correctly, i went to do a flight and got my first bsod, the only thing I installed in my last 10 flights, was this livery. I went to delete it and reinstall, but it doesn't show up in my pmdg ops center, to delete. Yet it shows up in game. I installed the PTP file. This is also an issue with the TN One, but I haven't done a flight with it yet. Do you know of a way I can delete it if it's not in the ops center? I've been using your liveries for years, so I think it was just an issue with the way I unpacked it, or it installed wrong.

Great livery! I flew on 714CB many times, including it's last flight out of MDW, so it's quite nostalgic to fly in FS

Can you add this repaint with the newer matte like desert gold finish you did in your Classic 4 Pack THanks

Thanks for the review! "Classic One" (And The Herbert D Kelleher) both featured a metallic golden material instead of the Desert Gold materal (which wore out quite often). Because of that, this livery never saw the Desert Gold like material (only when it flew as a standard Desert livery prior to being made a retro/herritage livery) and I don't have plans to change that

Great livery man. Any chance you'd consider doing the Herbert Kelleher one too? There's one on here but it's a dirty livery and I'm not a fan. Would love to see your rendition of it.

Thanks for the kind review! I absolutely would love to do it, plus it has a few cool differences between 714CB. I'll be in Dallas sometime next month and they actually have the nose of the original "Herbert D Kelleher" at the museum near love field and was going to get a picture of that to have for the nose text (since I foolishly forgot to take a picture of it last time I was there). I may recreate it sooner or find something for it before then, but at the absolutely latest that's when I'd have it done

That would be awesome. Herb is pretty important to me. He sat in on my interview at WN years ago. A real standup guy. I know this is going way back but with WN got the 737-700 initially, they were painted in the old desert scheme. Like this one but not metallic with the white around the window frames. I know I requested one already, but would you consider doing that one too? I spent a lot of my adult life riding on that old paint scheme. Still miss it to this day.

N790SW was actually delivered in the old scheme. I was one of the first flight attendants to work on it. https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/6075818

I definitely have plans to do the original desert gold livery. Especially the rare "Southwest.com" wingleted verisons. Essentially all of my childhood was flying on Desert -300s and -500s so I absolutely want to recreate it for the PMDG. I'll have to redo the cabin, stencils, decals and other things that were present on those liveries (but no longer used) so it may take a little bit of time

Thank you for the kind words! Given the real N714CB never had scimitars fitted, I don't have plans to do so-- I'm not too big on fictional liveries or retrofits

Is it just because the livery is at 4k but it seems like the textures on the outside of the aircraft aren't as high resolution. Can tell very well in wing views. Other than that, amazing livery as usual!

    Thanks for the review!

Yes, the PMDG textures and paintkit are at 4K resolution, as with my livery. I could "upscale" things to 8K; however, that would require retexturing things (as just doing 2x the size would lead to a decrease in quality without extensive retexturing). I may consider an extensive texture overhaul at some point but isn't too high of a priority at the moment.

Ahh ok. But even then, it still looks incredible and am a huge fan of your work!

Southwest Airlines "Classic One" w/Cabin PMDG 737-7H4

Southwest Airlines "Classic One" for the PMDG Boeing 737-700. A slightly modified verison of Southwest's original Desert Gold scheme, "Classic One" is a tribute to former President Colleen Barret (hence the "CB" at the end of "N714CB"). The livery previously joined N711HK as the only two remaining "Classic" aircraft in the Southwest Airlines fleet. As of June 2022, both examples have been retired and a MAX 8 will feature a retro Desert Gold livery. Features custom interior, custom SWA pushback tug, authentic SWA stencils, interior + exterior weathering, realistic SWA aircraft configurations, and other details.
