    Description

ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES SCENERY UPDATED PROJECT PACK

    [WORK IN PROGRESS]

      GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

I've been getting requests to try and tackle these 5 airports and try to bring it up to date. I have to say, Argyle International was the toughest due to the amount of terra-forming techniques involved and as always is never perfect but I try to bring it close to the real thing. Due to the amount of airports and work that was involved, I won't list my usual updated details. Instead i'll show the progress through the first 10 screenshots sequentially from updated to default shots individually.

I will update more details here and there later on bit by bit as I see more changes. Anyone who lives on these islands can feel free to message me and give me any updates and i'll try to correct them if possible.

    SHORT DECSRIPTION FOR EACH AIRPORT:

    TVSA - ARGYLE INTERNATIONAL:

(often referred to as Argyle Airport or simply AIA) is an international airport in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, about 5.17 miles (8.32 km) from Kingstown. The airport is one of St. Vincent and the Grenadines' most important infrastructure assets and the country's first international airport. This airport connects St. Vincent and the Grenadines to major airports such as Miami International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, London Heathrow Airport as well as other airports in the Caribbean. It is the largest of five airports in the multi-island nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the largest international gateway into the country, the others being J. F. Mitchell Airport in Bequia, Canouan Airport, Mustique Airport and Union Island Airport all in the Grenadines.

    TVSB - J.F. MITCHELL AIRPORT:

also known as Bequia Airport, is the airport serving Bequia island, Grenadines Parish, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, including Grenadines Parish' capital Port Elizabeth. It is named after Sir James Fitz-Allen Mitchell, KCMG, PC, MP, former Premier (1972-1974) and Prime Minister (1984-2000) of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The airport is basically a turbo-prop center for chartered flights. Nevertheless, small private jet aircraft also fly to this airport. Most commercial flights into J. F. Mitchell Airport are domestic, but there are about ten international flights each week from Barbados and Saint Lucia.

    TVSC - CANOUAN AIRPORT:

is the airport located on the island of Canouan in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The airport serves the surrounding tourist areas and environs of the Grenadines and is a major destination during the Caribbean winter leisure season. Aside from facilitating regular passenger flights, the airport is also open for international corporate jet operations and charter flights. Canouan Airport was the main business aviation airport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines before the opening of Argyle International Airport. The terminal has a CIP (Commercially Important People) lounge and other facilities for international passengers and a domestic hub for St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It is the second largest airport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, after Argyle International Airport.

    TVSM - MUSTIQUE AIRPORT:

is a private airfield owned by the Mustique Company for public use and is located on Mustique island, part of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean Sea. It is used by civil aviation and national airlines using turboprop planes.

The airport has a short takeoff and landing (STOL) runway with a displaced threshold, thus limiting the aircraft types allowed to land. Single-engine light aircraft such as the Cessna 152, Cessna 172, and twin-engine light aircraft such as the Beechcraft King Air, the larger Beechcraft Super King Air or the well-known de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter can easily land there.

The runway is unlit and the airstrip lacked an instrument landing system, radar and other radio navigation aids – used for landings in poor weather.

[NO LANDING AT NIGHT. you have been warned! :)]

    TVSU - UNION ISLAND AIRPORT:

is the airport serving Union Island, Grenadines Parish, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It is located about 0.25 miles (0.40 km) from the town of Clifton, one of the country's main tourist centers and a major destination for charter leisure flights during the winter holiday season and Easter, for "Easterval" celebration. The airport serves as a focus city for flag carrier SVG Air and features flights to several short-haul regional destinations. It is the southmost airport of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The airport, which currently handles only turboprop aircraft services mainly light regional aircraft with domestic flights to and from St. Vincent and some of the Grenadines and regular scheduled and shared charter international flights to Barbados, Carriacou, Grenada, St. Lucia and Martinique.

Union Island Airport has a fairly short runway with a displaced threshold, so commercial air service is accomplished using short takeoff and landing (STOL) type aircraft. The displaced portion of the runway may be used for takeoff but not for landing.

[NO LANDING AT NIGHT. RUNWAY IS UNLIT. you have been warned! :)]

    INSTALLATION:

Open and extract ''lexpro-st vincent and the grenadines_updated_scenery_pack_project 1.0'' (or the version name you choose to download) to your prefered location on your PC, then unZip and open the folder and copy the 5 individual folders into where your Community folder is located, then start the sim and go to any one of the 5 airports.
