Kulmbach airfield (EDQK) - Home of ChrisPiAviation
My scenery creation "career" started with this very airfield more than 2 years ago. The runway was flipped by 180° by default back in the day which really annoyed me since this is my home airfield. That's when I went into learning how to create sceneries.
Many scenery projects have been released since then and we now came full circle with this airfield, which is a complete overhaul of my very first scenery project. This time around the attention to detail has increased dramatically and now custom buildings with custom textures are included. Since this airfield is only 10 Minutes away from where I live (plus I spent a lot of time there in general), this scenery is as acurate as I possibly can make it.
You get runway starts (RWY 27/09, 750x30m) as well as several parking spots for cold-and-dark all across the airfield areal.

- "Mowed" Grass looks alright now (lower grass compared to other areas)
- Hangar southwest of the control tower got replaced to look closer to the original
- 2 Hangars on the western part of the airfield got replaced to look closer to reality as well.
- Hangar just west of the tower was moved to its correct position (further east)
- Some small corrections of the airfield altogether.

- Runway designators changed - now 26/08
- Plassenburg castle added (basic version because scenery editor messed up detailed version)
Known issues:
- Bump on runway between taxi way B and the half runway markers still present. Scenery Editor doesn't allow to change it.
- Plassenburg castle is too high in elevation. Scenery Editor does mess this up as well. Tried to conceal that bug with vegetation.

Installation:
Open the downloaded file and place the "chrispiaviation_edqk" folder inside the community folder. Dependencies (additional files) listed above need to be inside the community folder as well.

Just asking:
Why creating a new one and not updating the old one?
Updating could also be a complete rework, but still under the old name.
I just found that one today rnadom, and had the old one, since I didn't recognized there is a better one from you :D
Would be so much easier for all the users. There might be a lot still stuck with the old one, not knowing, there is a new one :)
So will test the new one also :)

Ich bin von der neuen, wie auch schon von der alten, Version begeistert.
Leider habe ich seit neuestem eine "Delle" in der Rwy. Die befindet sich genau 90° Grad zum Windsack. Ich frage mich, ob das mit neuen Updates zusammenhängt oder bei mir ein Problem ist.
Ich hab mal ein Foto gemacht, die Delle ist nicht massiv aber beim Takeoff Run lässt sie mich hüpfen. https://imgur.com/a/n5eMV1c

Ich hab leider immernoch die "Delle" im Sim

Daran kann ich leider nichts ändern. Das ist ein Fehler im Simulator selbst. Im Szenerie Editor kann ich die "Delle" entfernen, ist die Szenerie dann aber fertig im Community Ordner, ist sie wieder da. Man kann froh sein, dass es hier nicht so ausgeprägt ist. Es gibt Flughäfen, da ist dann eine richtige Stufe im Boden.

Ich hab deine alte Version mit den Landmarks bisher genutzt, denkst du, dass du diese Version hier ebenfalls mit Landmarks releasen wirst?
Allgemein würde ich mich über eine Scenery Landmarks Oberfranken & Co sehr freuen :)
Ein Addon für realistische Windräder wurde ja bereits released.

Das hab ich vergessen zu erwähnen: Die Landmarks (Ochsenkopf und Co. blieben unberührt, soll heißen, die sind alle nach wie vor vorhanden. Die Stadt Kulmbach habe ich auch ein wenig aufgehübscht.
