    ATR 42/72-600 Normal Checklist - Image 1

    Description

Here's another hopefully useful Normal Operations checklist in a summarised, printable 2-page format from me!

This time, this Checklist is specifically made for the ATR 42 and ATR72-600 new to Microsoft Flight Simulator and the first aircraft in the MSFS Expert Series on the marketplace!

The checklist will cover everything from using "Hotel Mode" through to takeoff and landing so I hope you find it useful in learning the new aircraft. It will likely be updated and tweaked in the future should I begin to improve the flow as I learn the aircraft more and as always any feedback is welcome! Don't forget to check out all of my other checklists for other great aircraft too.

I'm over on YouTube if you wish to come and say hello and subscribe!

If you're in the process of learning the ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600 then check out my YouTube video tutorial series to help you dive in and get started with ease!

To those of you who downloaded v.1.0.1 - apologies, I somehow dragged my custom camera view folder into the update instead of the checklist zip instead which caused some mega confusion it seems. I've now fixed it and uploaded the correct version as v1.0.2. Appreciate the comments letting me know!

Oh....Has anyone mentioned you can't shut it down or turn it off unless you start unbinding settings, so amateur it makes me laugh. The condition levers bounce up and down like a yoyo, so if you have a full sim set up like moi, forget this aircraft.

Gust Lock should be released as part of the Before Take-off procedure, not before. Its purpose is to prevent accidental application of extreme engine torque and that restriction should remain until Take-off. It is engaged again as part of the After Landing procedure.

Also, the Idle Gate is entirely automatic and will close when pressure comes off the main gear, re-opening again upon touchdown. The PNF/PM will check this occurs but it is a very audible click that the flight crew should be able to hear anyway. Either way, you never operate it manually as instructed in your checklist.

Other than that, very nicely done! I wish I had the patience and skills to make a more visually appealing checklist than mine that have very basic formatting. Very helpful for others in the community, thanks!

At first, thank you for your work!

But please, I'm feeling stupid... where are the Automatic Torque? Spent 30 minutes in the cockpit and unable to find it :)

Do you have the right version? I just double checked and the updated one does not have this in there anymore

My bad, that was in the old version of the checklist

I was not able to set the ATR following those instructions...

It's a normal procedures checklist. Check out my video tutorials on my youtube channel for a more indepth start up procedure. This checklist is designed for use providing you know some bits about the aircraft at least...

    ... it's a checklist, not a step-by-step guide to fly the ATR

Thanks. I will look at them. ;)

Thanks for doing this. I believe that the TRU should be set ON before taxi and OFF before shutdown otherwise it risks losing avionics in case of DC failure. Found an ATR procedures guide where that's stated - can share if required.

Nope, I know some streamers have been turning it on but as I understand it and from what I've read myself, the TRU would be used in the case of a dual DC BUS failure... so would be an emergency checklist item (if it's a guarded switch, it's guarded for a reason!)

Never heard of GTA - but even then that would be a company specific checklist item. I've been told specifically TRU is not manually set on unless you get DC GEN failures. The document you add is an operational bulletin too not a normal operations checklist. This checklist assumes the "fault" isn't present as per normal ops and that operational bulletin may be company specific too

Hello and thank you! Would be great if you could add the procedure for hotel mod of engine 2.

Being a checklist, it assumes you know it already (it's not a tutorial but a checklist afterall for normal operations).

Hotel Mode needs Pump2 on for engine 2, Prop Lock Engaged (which are in the checklist) Start to A+B, Ignition Start, then FTH or AUTO for the condition lever. When it's started the generator for Eng 2 should come online
