    Port Moresby (Jacksons) AYPY Version 3

    Serves the capital of Papua New Guinea and is the primary international airport for the country.

    All parking, taxiways and navaids are default

    NOTE: No dependencies required however you MUST have all world updates installed including WU13 (Oceania)

    IMPORTANT: This scenery is FREE and took a lot of time to build. If you don't like it just delete it!

    An excellent update, sorted out all the terrain issues perfectly. Thank you! I do wonder if it might be possible to request a version that doesn't have any of the 'generic' static aircraft around the airfield? Very much appreciate all your hard work.

    G'day VH-EAA. Thanks for the comment. It is appreciated. This is my 7th build of AYPY over the years so I'm getting better at it. I'll see what I can do, however I have 200 more sceneries to update so might be a while.

    I really like flying to all of yours airports/airstrips in PNG. Appreciate all your efforts you put into these fantastic freeware addons. Would love to see more of them :)

    Thank you for this - I really enjoy flying here! One thing I noticed is that Jackson Tower and Port Morseby Control are on the same frequency of 118.1 so when using BATC you can't switch frequency after departure as it puts you back on the tower freq. I'm not sure if this is correct or not (I don't know enough to claim, but some googling suggests that Moresby Centre is 123.4) but that's the only issue I've had here - everything else is perfect! If it's within your control to fix then brilliant, but if not it's no big issue, I just wait until I'm out of Tower range anyway! :D

    Thanks for your comment. The frequencies are default Asobo. I don't change or add any frequencies in my builds but I will see if I can work out how to do it

    Hi wildtomcat. Same answer as previously. Try adjusting your terrain settings. Apart from that I have no remedy. I have uninstalled/reinstalled a number of times and I get no issues. Of the thousands of downloads there have only been 3 with this issue.

    I may be alone on this but I seem to have some funky terrain issues around the airport. Radio towers have their own little mountains around the airport perimeter.

    G'day VH_EAA. Thanks for the comment. What you're reporting is interesting. I've had over 4,500 downloads of AYPY and only3 have reported this issue. Alas I don't have a solution. It may be graphics or settings (terrain). Maybe try deleting, downloading and re-installing?
    Whatever it is is very unusual
    I wish you all the best and I'm sorry I can't offer any suggestions

    In my airport addons reviews I value 3 important areas. 1) Overall quality, textures, no terrain glitches
    2) Performance and 3) simulation aspect (runway usage, working ILS, realistic taxiways, runways, gates, parking spots, ability of ATC to assign gate/parking/ramp, FSLTL traffic at the airport, possibility to request ground vehicles and jetbridge).
    1) Easy 5/5
    2) Easy 5/5
    3) 4/5 - my only nitpicking points are two. 1) Atc wont assign gate/ramp/parking spot (tried with 787) although approripate gate/ramp (heavy/large) was not occupied. 2) Cant request jetbridge or stairs to connect to the aircraft.

    It would be very cool if you could imrpove on this. In the end it is great airport addon and updating those two things I mentioned would elevate this airport to the superior quality :)

    Hi BattleOverlord. Thanks for the rating and suggestions. I'm just a simple old GA pilot who builds scenery. I don't do anything beyond my pay grade. With the advent of MSFS 24 happening soon I guess this scenery will become irrelevant.
    This is Papua New Guinea so in real life nothing works (I speak from experience!)😀

    @Mountainair I dont think your addon will become irrelevant with new sim. This area of the world is overlooked quite often. And I bet your version is going to be better than default one. I'm sure of it. But it also depends if you would update this for MSFS2024, because I can imagine that thanks to new satellite data the airport terrain will change.

    I can confirm that this mod, which is a welcome addition in many ways, disables jetway operation. Loaded default AYPY; it shows no central terminal but shows jetways. Jetways can be operated from the ATC/ground menu. Loaded MountainAir's AYPY which shows central terminal & jetways, but ATC/ground shows no option for jetway operation. Tried this with 2 different aircraft: default A320neo and PMDG B738 and results were the same with both. Otherwise a good enchancement to FS2020.
