Bringeland - ENBL

Bringeland Airport, also known as Førde Airport, is a regional airport located at Bringelandsåsen in the municipality of Sunnfjord, approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) south of the town of Førde in Vestland county, Norway. The airport is owned and operated by the state-owned company Avinor. It features a single runway, numbered 07–25, which is 1,019 meters (3,343 feet) long​​.

Førde is a town located in the Sunnfjord Municipality of Vestland county in Norway. It serves as the administrative center of Sunnfjord Municipality. The town is situated at the eastern end of Førdefjorden, at the mouth of the river Jølstra. As of 2019, Førde had a population of 10,339 people, covering an area of 5.49 square kilometers (1,360 acres), leading to a population density of 1,883 inhabitants per square kilometer (4,880/sq mi)​​​​.

Førde is recognized as both a commercial and cultural center. It is the largest town in the Sunnfjord area and the main commercial hub of the region. The town is built around the river Jølstra, which is a notable feature as it winds its way to Førdefjord. Moreover, Førde is an important industrial and government center for the area. The Øyrane area in the center of the town, along the harbor, is a regional center for industry. The town is well-equipped educationally, housing local primary and secondary schools, a folk high school, and one of the two campuses of the Sogn og Fjordane University College. The Department of Engineering and Health Sciences of the college is also located in Førde. Other notable institutions include a branch of the county library, the Førde Central Hospital, and the regional newspaper, Firda. Førde Church is the main church of the town​​.

In terms of transportation, Førde is strategically located at the intersection of the Rv.5 and E39 highways. Rv. 5 connects Førde to the nearby town of Florø, and E39 links Førde with Ålesund to the north and Bergen to the south. Historically, the old Førde Airport, Øyrane, was located in the center of the town but was operational only from 1971 until 1986 due to suboptimal conditions. Consequently, a new airport was built about 15 kilometers south of the town in Bringeland, in the neighboring Sunnfjord municipality​​.
