    Description

    This is a replacement for the default Cheyenne Regional Airport/Jerry Olson Field (KCYS).

    There is now a FS2024 version to download. 

    The airport serves Wyoming’s largest city, Cheyenne, which has a population of approximately 65,000 people. It’s also the main operating base for the Wyoming Air National Guard and the Wyoming Army National Guard. The old terminal, which was built in the 1920s, was replaced with a new terminal in 2018. 

    This version includes a custom model of the new passenger terminal, AeroServe FBO and the neighboring AeroServe hangar. It also includes custom taxiway markings, custom military apron markings, custom models for a couple of the more prominent buildings for the Wyoming Army National Guard, and a custom model of the new air traffic control tower. 

    Special thanks to CuzDawg3 for testing the builds and locating some of the mistakes. Please send me a message with any suggestions for improvements and corrections on future versions. 

    To install, just unzip the contents into your community folder.

    Great scenery upgrade for Cheyenne. Our airport is growing and offers commercial service. They just did a 2 million dollar upgrade a couple of years ago and added a jetway. Is there anyway to add that to your current KCYS rendition? Here is the picture of the jetbridge being installed.

    Jetways require animation, and the jetway at KCYS is very unique to the airport. I just flew out of there this week, and I got a close look at it. Unfortunately, building a custom jetway is beyond my skills.

    But that jetway looks pretty much identical to the default one in 2024? No need for a custom asset.

    Overall a great scenery! I'm puzzled why you placed a grass texture over the satellite image in areas of the field. Even if you don't like the Bing grass color, that can be fixed with Google Maps tool. Could you consider making this grass a separate .bgl that users can remove?

    The reason is that Bing maps is really old. So it shows taxiways that don't exist as well as some other features that conflict with my scenery. I'll see about making a separate file like you suggest.

    Thank you for making this airport. Searched for a scenery a few days ago and could not find anything. Great for my next flight from Jackson Hole to Cheyenne, KCYS.
