Welcome to the Freycinet Peninsula.
Version 2.0 - Updated for MSFS2024
Located near the township of Coles Bay, just north of the renowned Freycinet National Park and nestled amongst bushland, the Friendly Beaches airstrip (YFRI) serves as a remote yet scenic gateway to one of Australia’s most iconic coastal regions. This 950-metre gravel and sand runway is home to local charter operator Freycinet Air Tasmania, with regular rotorcraft and GA operations, and also hosts occasional flights from Par Avion and private pilots exploring Tasmania’s East Coast.
Conveniently positioned halfway up the coast, this airstrip makes an ideal stopover after a scenic hop from Maria Island. En route, pilots can take in dramatic views of Ille Des Phoques, Wineglass Bay, and the sprawling Moulting Lagoon before landing at this unique airstrip.
This updated MSFS 2024 edition builds upon the original 2020 release with the addition of custom aerial imagery from 2018 exported from historic Google Satellite to remove large areas of shadow around the airfield, custom 3D models of the airstrip's office and hangar buildings, as well as accurate runway, helipad and parking locations and all associated infrastructure.

Assets from Asobo's EIDL Donegal are used for the lighting around the buildings; these are optional but will not show if the default handcrafted airport is not enabled in your sim. As this airport is not accredited for night operations, these are not essential.

Over the next few weeks I will produce updated versions of all of my sceneries (prioritised by number of downloads). These will be native to the new sim and contain tweaks to details such as vegetation and will aim to use more of my models rather than relying on third-party libraries.

There is an issue though with the Airport Services: as with Cape Barren Island, the folder structure causes the issue where airport services fail for all airports. The yfry folder needs to be directly under the "AirportServices" folder, not several folders down.
