The Airport of São Joaquim da Barra is a public airfield of private administration, held through the Association of Dealers and Users of Public Airports - Aerobarra, which received in 2012 the concession of 25 years for its administration.

Built in 1932 and decommissioned around 1980 by the municipal administration, the airport had a dirt track. With total land of 47 hectares and privileged logistics location – the airport is 75 kilometers from Ribeirão Preto (SP), 105 km from Uberaba (MG), 56.4 km from Franca (SP) and 96 km from Barretos (SP) – in a region with more than 2 million inhabitants, its potential as a support point on executive and agricultural aviation routes, could not be ignored.

Since then Aerobarra, through businessman Luiz Gustavo Junqueira Figueiredo, has been making constant investments in infrastructure ranging from the passenger terminal, the parking of vehicles, as well as the renovation of 3 hangars and construction of 2 new ones with a total area of about 1,250 m², the installation of a filling station, and with special emphasis are the investments in the runway and takeoffs , unmissable and 1,320 meters long, this runway is equivalent to santos dumont airport in Rio de Janeiro and has the capacity to receive turboprop aircraft of up to 70 passengers.
