    Description

    Shady Acres Airport is located a few miles south of Tacoma in Spanaway, Washington. It's under some fairly busy skies, with the Seattle Class B airspace and the Class D airspace for Joint Base Lewis McChord both nearby. Established in 1962, Shady Acres is an airpark (one of the first in Washington State), with the runway surrounded by homes. Plenty of surrounding tall trees, roads, fences - and a very narrow runway - make this airport a challenge for both take offs and landings.

    The main effort with this scenery was sorting out the pretty messy photogrammetry; I've tidied this up as much as possible. There's also custom runway markings and a few other custom bits and pieces (and more to come soon, I hope). 

    If anyone has photos of this airport they could share, I'm keen to work on some more custom buildings.

    As ever, please let me know what you think! I'll try and keep improving things.

    Love this airstrip - bumps are off runwy 16 - 4 lights past the cones. here is a screenshot - look in lower left. thank you!

    Thanks - let me dig the old digital steamroller out and see what I can do here... Looks like it might be a seam between two different bits of ground scenery.

    Install was successful but there are several huge bumps in the runway that make it difficult to take off.

    This version should fix the seams/ridges/chasms/bumps in the runway It's a bit of a workaround (you'll see what I mean on the world map) but the runway starts should be in just about the right place. As ever, feedback welcome - let me know how you get on with this version! Oh, and I've added a landing T as well, in what I hope is the right place, just about.
