Description
INTRODUCTION
Introducing the Grumman J2F Duck for MSFS. The Duck was a single-engine, biplane amphibious aircraft used by all branches of the U.S. armed forces from the mid-1930s through World War II.
This aircraft is a full native conversion from a model developed for FSX, originally created by Paul Domingue, and given permission by said author to convert for use in MSFS. Many updates, modifications, and features have been made to the original model, including: Conversion to MSFS texture format, improved modelling and animations, flight model and engine configuration updates, systems and lighting updates, new components (i.e. ADF radio, munitions, etc.), and updated sounds and fx.
Its highly recommended that you read through the included Operation Manual as there are useful tips for flying and operating the Duck.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
The Grumman J2F Duck comes in three variants: The J2F4, J2F5, and J2F6, and includes a total of 15 liveries.
Found within the J2F6 list of liveries is a version as seen in the movie “Murphy’s War”, with its own unique model (with missing engine cowling, canopies, and radome) and a unique texture set to match the configuration and look of the Duck in the film.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Besides Paul’s insight and consideration for allowing me to bring his wonderful aircraft into MSFS, I want to thank the following people for providing valuable feedback during the development process, notably: Rudder58, Clockstopp3r, GromitZish, Baracus, Eazynotsoeazy48, Sal1800, TerribleGuitarist, Red_Baron17, and finally JanKees, who created all of the beautiful exterior liveries for the Duck and assisted with the interiors.
PAINT KIT
A paint kit is planned for the Grumman J2F Duck and will be provided as a separate download.
PLANNED UPDATES
o Fix engine cowling for J2F4 variant
o Refine camera views
o Set Parking Brake "ON" for runway start
o Set Landing Gear "UP" for Hangar view
o Update HUD airspeed and fuel parameters
INSTALLATION
This aircraft will work with both MSFS 2020 and 2024. Note that some features of 2024 will not be available.
The zip file includes the aircraft folder, a readme text file, and a Grumman J2F Operation Manual.
To install, place the folder "flyndive-pd-aircraft-msfs-grumman-duck" into your community folder. For future updates, remember to remove the previous version from your community folder before updating. (Note: Folder name might have changed.)

I am currently working on improving texture for this bird and I seem to be puzzled by the normal maps mentioned above.
May I ask you to check?

Thanks to you and the team for all the effort here! One question if you have the time, how do I dim the panel lights? Is there a rheostat somewhere? I’m using 24 and I must turn them off to see out the glass. I can still see them OK in most conditions, just curious if I am missing something. Thanks in advance if you are able.

Historique des versions
This version works for both MSFS 2020 and 2024: o Added full-body collision mesh for 2024 so your avatar can't "walk-through" the aircraft. o Adjusted aircraft and livery configurations to only show one aircraft in the 2024 aircraft directory, with the variants and their respective liveries available to be selected. o Added Panel Collision meshes for better VR experience. o Added tool-tips for fuel selector switch. o Removed duplicate meshes for wheel-well strut brackets (caused flashing of the components). o Note that the pilot and co-pilot do not currently appear in 2024 (Asobo bug).

I've set myself to do a flyby all over Africa only on prop planes and I've stumbled on this while mindlessly browsing. Has become one of my faves.
Yes, has limitations, but the fun and that sound makes it a worthwhile experience. Thanks to all involved.
