    Description

    Clean windows and instrument glass surfaces for the FBW A380X
    MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 4K versions only!

    This is the second version of the clean windows for the FBW A380. Since the required files for MSFS 2024 have changed slightly and the "one-set-fits-all" solution no longer works, I had to create separate folders. The MSFS 2020 version remains unchanged, so there's no compelling reason to update.

    However, if you encounter any problems, please leave a comment. I'll try to help as best I can. I still recommend making a backup copy of the existing livery folder before installation - just in case...

    The zip file contains - in addition to the required texture files - a step-by-step instruction as a PDF file, with which the installation can be carried out in just a few minutes.

    The cockpit windows and all instruments with glass surfaces will then be cleaned of dirt, smudges, scratches and fingerprints, so that your next flight will be a really clean experience :))

    Note: I tested the "Clean Windows" modification with both the development and stable versions following the texture update on May 19, 2026. After applying the "layout.json" file update mentioned in the description, the effect functions as intended.

    First thank you for this mod!
    Is it possible to create a version where only the cockpit windows are clean, without the instruments?
    Does the cockpit window have small scratches and minimal stains here and there?

    Hi, thank you for the rating! Do not use the modified files whose name begin with "A380_COCKPIT_DISPLAY..." to maintain the original used look of the displays. The windows should not have any stains or scratches.

    I misspoke. I wanted to ask if they can make cockpit windows that have a few scratches and blemishes?
    That would be a great addition.

    The scratches and stains provided by FBW are very nice, perhaps you should try them out.

    Hi! I've been using this mod in MSFS 2020 where it works perfectly, but in MSFS 2024 the windows still show up as dirty, not clean. I've followed the instructions, just as I did for MSFS 2020. The cockpit displays are clean, but not the windows. This happens on the 4k stable vers. (haven't tested it yet on the dev. vers.)

    To follow up on my last comment, I did follow the instructions and removed it from the community folder. It still shows thee same dirty window textures. Idk what i did wrong

    To follow up my comment, what i did was i downloaded the fbw a380 8k, installed this file into the community folder and then nothing. Im not sure what is wrong @BenBlinding

    Nothing happens? Nothing at all? Or do you get pink checkered textures instead?
    Do NOT copy the folder into the community folder!! Follow the instructions as shown in the pdf you received.

    It has already worked for 4000 other people, so why shouldn't it work for you too? Follow the instructions in the attached PDF file.

    Copy and save the current texture folder to a safe place in case you want or need to switch back to the original version.

    Paths are defined by Microsoft/Asobo and cannot be changed. Files must be stored in specific folders and have no influence on the length of a path.
