Description
Jever Air Base is a former German Air Force military air base, located 4.3 km west-southwest of Schortens in Lower Saxony, Germany. It was the home of parts of the German Air Force Regiment. Military flying ceased in September 2013.
The airfield was originally opened in 1936 for the Luftwaffe. It was taken over by the Royal Air Force (RAF) in April 1945. It was designated as Advanced Landing Ground B-117 Jever.
In 1961 the base was returned to the control of the German Air Force and became a NATO Air Base.
In MSFS 2020 Jever is still an active stock airport (despite closed since 2013). Because the airport area is pixeled out in Bing Map there is no satellite image. In addition, there are no AI generated buildings. Therefore the Asobo stock airport looks rather terrible.
The intention of this mod is not to reactivate the airport in detail but to improve the scenery for better immersion during overflight.
This mod includes
- the stock airport (without any changes)
- a satellite image
- vegetation corrections
- asobo/microsoft stock buildings
- shelters (see "Dependenies")
For Installation you need to place the following packages in your community folder:
- etnj-jever-aerial
- etnj-jever-airport

But I'll at least have a look - the screenshots are nice!
You might try asking nickb007 if you can include the files you need in your own build.
