This is a repaint for the stock/standard AT-6 Texan included in the full version of the Reno Air Races expansion for MSFS 2020, as well as the default AT-6 Texan included in MSFS 2024. This repaint depicts the restored T-6G Texan USAF Serial No. 49-3449, registered as N29931, owned and operated by Scott Grieger, and based at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

The main file is for MSFS 2024, while the additional file is for MSFS 2020.

Details of this repaint:
- External textures have been up-scaled by double their original resolution (to provide full clarity and sharpness for all markings and stencils).
- Many areas of the normal maps have been redone/improved across the airframe.
- Custom textures for the engine, prop, wheel wells, flap wells and undercarriage, all to match the real aircraft.
- Custom textures for the cockpit, changing the overall primer/paint to Bronze Green, matching the real aircraft.
- Several other cockpit texture changes and improvements, including the throttles, portions of the canopies, as well as the interphone amplifier placards (which had been left unfinished by the developer).
- A couple small details added to the rear instrument panel, closely matching the real aircraft, that are leftovers from its days in the Spanish Air Force.

History:
This Texan would have most likely started off life rolling out of the North American Aviation factory as an AT-6D during World War Two, produced for the US Army Air Force, but its USAAF serial number and history is unknown by the author. Post-war, it was one of many AT-6 trainers that were pulled from storage in the early 1950s and remanufactured for the USAF with the new designation, T-6G. This particular airframe was sent to North American Aviation's plant in Downey, California, where it was remanufactured as a T-6G and delivered to the United States Air Force in July 1953, with the new USAF serial no. 49-3449. With the USAF, it served with the 3302nd Training Squadron at Spence AFB in Moultrie, Georgia, followed by the 3306th Pilot Training Squadron at Bainbridge AFB, Georgia. In 1954, the aircraft was transferred to the French government, and delivered on a US Navy carrier to Pauillac, in Bordeaux, France. The company, SFERMA Bordeaux-Merignac, was then contracted to modify the T-6 for counter insurgency (COIN) operations in North Africa. It was taken on strength with the Armée de l'Air (French Air Force) in 1956, and initially served with the unit EAA 601 at Châteaudun Air Base, France, before being transferred later to Tébessa, Algeria, during the French-Algerian war. The aircraft was returned to France in 1963 and placed into storage at Ambérieu-en-Bugey. In August 1965, the T-6 was purchased by the government of Spain, and it was soon ferried to the city of Getafe in Madrid. With the Ejército del Aire (Spanish Air Force), the T-6G was assigned a new EDA serial no., E.16-197, and served with Squadron 422, Group 42, at Reus, in Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain, with fuselage code 422-49. The aircraft remained active with the Spanish AF for the next 16 years, until when it was finally struck off charge in July 1981 and placed into storage once again.

The civilian stage of the aircraft's life began in May 1982, when it was sold at auction at Torrejón Air Base in Madrid. Its new owner, Combat Aircraft Inc. of Elkart, Indiana, imported the T-6 back to the United States and it was promptly registered as N29931 with the FAA, using its USAF serial no. 49-3449. Initially, the aircraft was flown in the US still wearing its Spanish AF color scheme. After passing through several owners, it was ultimately restored in 1997, under the ownership of John Johnson of Palmer, Alaska, by Jimmy Stiles in Cartersville, Georgia. From this restoration, the T-6 was finished in the colorful paint scheme of a 1950s-era Guantanamo Bay-based SNJ, featuring a gray fuselage, trainer yellow wings and tail, and "DayGlo" orange-accented cowl and rudder, but with the aircraft's USAF serial number applied to the tail. Johnson reportedly raced the T-6 at Reno in 2000, with the name 'Smokin Sue'. After being sold to Jim Jatho of Augusta, Georgia, in 2001, the aircraft was acquired by Bruce Olson of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, in 2011, and it moved to Flying Cloud Airport, just outside Minneapolis. Under Olson's ownership, the aircraft was flown just about every week, from April to Fall, as long as the weather cooperated, and he averaged roughly 140 flying hours with it every year. This included many formation flights with owners of other locally-based Texans, SNJs and Harvards, collectively known as "T-6 Thunder". In 2020, Olson sold the T-6 to a fellow Minnesotan, Scott Grieger, who has carried on the torch. The aircraft remains based at Flying Cloud Airport, flying regularly around the Twin Cities and participating in formation flights with "T-6 Thunder".
