    Japan World Update Fix - Image 1

    Description

    Heal the world! Make it a better place... At least the virtual world can easily be fixed when people in power brake it again.

    Trying out the new World Update XX, I found that some places of World Update 1 got broken. At the island of Kerama, you find floating rocks and those beautiful textureless pink tetrapods. The latter also appear at Suwanosejima port. Both are part of airport sceneries of WU1.

    We know Asobo won't fix it any time soon, so here is a little remedy.

    Feel free to report more Japan bugs that I might have overlooked.

     

    Installation

    Unzip the file into your community folder.

    Thanks a lot for your nice comment. To do truth some justice, that place was built by Asobo. I just did some fixing. But I'm happy you enjoy. :-)

    Good job! Microsobo breaks, we fix! If I may ask: how did you fix the textures? Since SU16 there are several default models (like hangars) with missing textures. Just wondering if there's a way to fix that.

    Thanks for your kind words and the rating! I replaced the tetrapods with default models, that still have textures. Indeed, it's weird. I also found objects with missing textures but I'm not sure, if they are still there but they are just not adressed. That is the case e.g. with my Cairo fix. A texture cfg.-file is leading to fallback-folders which are base-folders that contain many textures. That way the sim saves space because it doesn't need to store them several times. However with lines in the texture.cfg missing, of course stuff doesn't show up in the sim. I was checking this with Japan also but couldn't find the tetrapod object so I changed it for a different one.

    They did it again??? Suddenly my replacement tetrapods are no longer in the sims library. I changed them for others that are looking even better.
