Let's celebrate this flight simming year with some fireworks!
To thank you all for your support and feedback on We Love VFR add-ons throughout last year I wanted to give you something special. This add-on gives fireworks effects around the World on various occasions. Experience fireworks displays on New Year's Eve in the air. See celebrations of the 4th of July in the USA, Diwali in India, and many more.
All towns and cities with over 50000 population (where data was available) have fireworks effects on New Year's Eve. All places marked in OpenStreetMap as "cities" are also included even when no population number is specified. Cities over 250000 have additional, bigger fireworks displays. In cities over 1 million, they are even bigger. Over 28000 locations overall.
Remember that the date panel in MSFS shows the date at UTC, not a local one, so it might get a bit confusing to set it.
Note to creators: Because of fs.to ToS BS (so many abbreviations!), and me modifying files with every update I've removed consent on using my assets in other add-ons. This doesn't mean I don't want you to use them! Just contact me and I will provide you with source files and assistance :)
To install just drag and drop "puf-welovevfr-xtra-fireworks" folder into your community folder. That's it.
Oh, and it doesn't need any of the other We Love VFR add-ons installed. It's standalone. The name is just for marketing :D
Here is a list of all fireworks occasions:
- 31 Dec - New Year's Eve - All around the World. Starts after dark around 20.00. Main displays from 22.00 till 1.30

- Canada and Lithuania celebrations will be added in the next version
Will this affect your FPS?
When there are no fireworks - no it shouldn't. I check conditions for fireworks every few seconds instead of every frame so it should have no impact on FPS.
During fireworks? Yeah, it can. In most cases, it takes 1FPS from me (i7 9700K, 1660Ti), so no biggie. But there might be places with a high density of cities that are more demanding like Tokyo (this one takes me 6FPS) - but it looks awesome, worth it. As it is just for special occasions it shouldn't be a problem ;)
Closing notes
I spend countless hours developing my add-ons, so donations are very appreciated, but not mandatory ;)

Any possibility of adding a few bonfires on the ground in the UK on 5th November please?

With lots of fire work around the world year round its undoable to do them all.
Like to have the yearly firework "Gronings ontzet" in my home town Groningen, Netherlands.
Is it possible to add locations to this add on on a user level?

I just got this and will use it for Bastille Day. BTW, all across summer, Japanese cities and towns also have fireworks shows, for no holiday in particular. Thanks for this.

This is not SU12 compatible and causes MSFS to hang on loading.***EDIT***
I found the problem - Thanks to "MSFS Addons Linker" as it made it easier and more precise in eliminating various addons.
Your Fireworks addon is not the problem, the problem is with an AI addon. Once I removed the AI addon there were no other issues.
I apologize in thinking it was your Fireworks addon. Thanks for your private messages in resolving this issue.
Now - how about adding July 1 CANADA DAY

I have it always installed and has no problems with SU12 so far. I had only one report similar to yours but the user didn't provided more details so I couldn't track down what's going on. Does it happen at every airport or a specific one? Did you try running with ONLY fireworks add-on? These questions might be odd, but I had issues around SU5 where my add-on and other add-ons (it was few that caused this) were both installed game would freeze. Turned out it was an issue with MSFS, not add-ons. But it was triggered with very specific conditions. I could recompile it tomorrow and send you a test version of you are open to that.

Hi, wanted to ask if anyone had reported this addon causing MSFS to freeze when starting up after SU12? I isolated the freeze to this addon using MSFS Addons Linker. Once I removed it from the Community Folder MSFS started just fine.

it seems not work for me. just to make sure, is there minimum version of msfs to use this addon?

I tested it with the latest official version and it worked fine. Make sure it is installed properly and remember that the date in weather/time window in MSFS is shown at UTC. This means that for some timezones date should be set one day earlier or later than you think. Try for example 23.30 Jan 1st or Dec 30th.

I've just checked and it works fine. First of all make sure it's properly installed. Is it on the add-ons list in your game?
Second, setting up the time might be confusing. You have to remember that the date in the weather/time setting window is shown according to UTC, not your local time. Just try 23.30 also on Jan 1st and Dec 30th to be sure.
