    EGSU Duxford Airfield COMPLETE EDITION

    This is a new version of Duxford Airfield and War Museum complete with ALL buildings within the grounds of the Duxford War Museum.

    Every building is represented in fine detail with all signage accurately placed. This edition is Virtual Duxford!

    The British Airliner Collection has been expanded with additional static aircraft complete with boarding stairs.

     It features some new spawns including two inside The Fighter Collection hangar which now has a fully modelled interior and opening doors. Crash gates B and C will also open for access to the apron.

    The gates and doors are now fully automatic and will open on approach and close behind you once you pass through.

    The above screenshots detail the new models in this revamped scenery.

    Note there is no night lighting in real life as the museum is only open during daylight hours and the airfield is not licensed for night operations

    It is important to remember that with all this additional detail it will increase need to have good capable hardware equipped on your PC in order to maintain good performance.

    Most people have reported good performance on their PC's with this scenery despite it's detail, but some with lower end hardware may have adjust their settings...

    It is for this reason that the original version of EGSU Duxford Airfieldwill remain available as a separate 'lite' version for those who basically just fly in and out of Duxford and just need the 'airside' view from the aprons. It seems there are no performance issues with that version, if you have lower spec PC then this is possibly more suitable.

    An updated version of the Airshow Addon is available if you would like to see spectators, both versions of Duxford remain compatible with this addon.

    Installation remains the same, unzip to your Community Folder but be sure to only have ONE version, 'detailed' OR 'lite' installed at one time. 

    I hope you enjoy this new improved version, but please remember if you have performance issues it could indicate that you need to be running the less detailed version...

    A version for MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024 is available,

    Please select the version you require after clicking the Download Button.

    * Latest 2024 version 2024.3 should fix elevated gates and doors

    Just downloaded this, and after flying over the standard version, this is a HUGE improvement! Based upon pictures I saw online, I'd say this is really good! Nice work sir

    Better than 90% of payware and certainly better than Burning Blue Designs, with their overrated, shimmery, cartoonish texturing. You should make more UK sceneries and sell them - I'd buy them without hesitation.

    Thanks for the update with the floating gates and doors fix. It was an intermittent problem for me, and I never worked out what triggered it. Anyway, thanks again - your superb Duxford is my home airfield in MSFS2024.

    Such an amazingly well-done scenery. Never been to Duxford but it looks really like some of the photos I've seen. AS close to the real place as I will ever get. Thanks for the hard work. No problems with 2020.

    Great scenery. I spent an hour walking around the place! Very well done. I'm just now getting into adding my own Blender models to the sim (still struggling a bit). But yours looks very nice!

    Don't ask me why, after four attempts (hence three 'back to desktop'), the Duxford site appeared in its wonderfulness. I'll add that I did the trip from France to see a Battle of Britain air show ther and that I' m still dreaming about.

    I probably missed something, but, after downloading, extracting and copying these files in my community folder, I still get the MS poor version of Duxford. Somebody may enlight me please ?

    I've always loved this scenery but on the latest 2024 compatible version I've now got 3 sets of floating / elevated textures 1) Crash Gate B (red) 2) Crash Gate C (also red) & 3) The entire hangar door texture where the Bristol Beaufighter (I think that's what it is) is parked inside

    Hi, please read the above "Known Issue" in the description.

    Most people don't have this issue, myself included, therefore I'm sorry but I have no way to troubleshoot this problem.

    A lot of people have reported that the issue 'comes and goes'...

    Thanks for pinning the comment from "marklar", I deleted that scenarii folder and it does make the scenery useable in 2024 - just without the crash gates and hangar door which is no biggie...Thanks.

    Fabulous! THANK YOU so much for creating this! I visited IWM Duxford in Feb 2026 and your add-on brings back memories of a great day. Although it was a cold and grey day, the displays are fantastic. also had the great surprise and privilege of seeing a Spitfire being rolled out of the Restoration maintenance hangar and taken for a quick couple of test circuits of the area about 30 minutes before closing. A great day's visit indeed. Thanks again.
