The CowanSim R66 for Microsoft Flight Simulator is a highly detailed and immersive helicopter add-on, developed with extensive feedback from real-world pilots. This aircraft features a fully native MSFS model that includes realistic flight dynamics and a custom-coded throttle and idle stop, all of which can be mapped to user hardware for a seamless flying experience. The flight model is designed to provide an accurate representation of the Robinson R66's handling and performance.

The R66 comes with a wide range of customization options, including 51 liveries and a detailed paint kit available in GIMP and Adobe Photoshop formats, as well as a Blender model for 3D painters. The cockpit includes three panel variants (G530/GTN/GX3/Analog) and supports popular avionics systems like PMS GTN 650/750 and TDS GTNXi 650/750. Additional features include working circuit breakers, an in-cockpit checklist, animated passengers, and various optional equipment such as emergency floats and windshield visors.

Notably, the R66 also includes persistence code that saves your weight and balance settings, as well as all visible options for your next flight. This helicopter is fully VR-ready, offering a highly immersive experience with realistic start-up procedures, dynamic sound effects, and accurate 3D modeling.
