Eh... I don't think I need another, smaller Airbus. Freeware (obviously) I'd have flown it a couple of times. Pay for it? Probably not. I don't see what it brings to the table.

I'll take quality for a price over lazy freeware any day of the week.

They will, it will be free for the people who purchased the normal version.

Very good decision!! Compared to P3d products, even high quality payware products (which iniBuilds absolutely do) are way cheaper. A good way for Synaptic Simulations not to waste the work they've already done, and for iniBuilds, certainly a welcome member to the Airbus fleet.

Wonderful news!I feared the project was going to fizzle despite the great work being done by the development team. The finished product will still include all their work. My son is an a220 pilot and tells me it is it is a unique aircraft and that the synaptic team was determined to reflect that in this project. I will be in the group that gets it on day one.

What it brings is further diversity to the sim and more routes available to recreate for those who only do flights with the real plane that is taken on the route. I am extremely excited for this reason. Additionally, its a new flight deck that is different from most other Boeing or Airbus cockpits, so it will be another plane to learn its quirks

I’m going to wait and see where the pricing sits first. With the A320neo ‘hiccup’ and the A310 not flyable for me at the moment (can’t power it up, might be a me issue, but also could be an Asobo problem), it has made me think twice regarding their payware aircraft. Don’t get me wrong, their payware scenery is very good. And I didn’t get the A300, so I have no basis to go by in judging their payware aircraft at all really. One thing I didn’t like about Synaptics partnering with FBW was the lack of some systems such as alternative routing and RNAV/RNP approaches in the A32nx, so the partnership with Ini should mean in-depth systems from day one.And that’s not a slam at the FBW team - what they deliver at a freeware level is very good, those devs donate their time so we can enjoy a product at zero cost, it just takes a long time for major updates to be deployed.

FBW removed SS from their installer already 😁

Does payware always mean Quality? Is the FBW a320 not quality?

Lazy freeware? Making an addon for free is lazy? Are you abit odd?

I know what plane i wont be buying. I try to stay away from anything inibuild makes or is involved in. The A310 still has issues. The other airbus got pulled from beta because of issue. Their scenery is extremely performance heavy and/or unoptimized.

The Lineage is an Embraer ERJ 190. Are you referring to the ACJ220, the business jet version of the A220?

My implication was not that all freeware is lazy, rather that I would [prefer to pay for a refined, high-quality product than have a mediocre, rushed product for free.

    Their discord.

Yup, my mistake, not big on either one frankly, but since apparently in the flight sim development world nobody will EVER give us a Global Express or Gulfstream for whatever retarded reason, I figured I’d have to settle with the PMDG bbj or this. (And yes I’m aware of Gulfstreams “copyright” argument which is complete horse crap, there’s a Gulfstream for Xplane and they just changed the name.

no it doesn't there's a lot of freeware that are better than payware: kuro 787-8, horizon sim 787-9, headwind a330-900neo; list goes on.

To my eye, the mahogany-brownish A220 that synaptic has been showing is the ACJ variant. 🤷‍♂️

The final product probably will not contain all that work which has been shown in previews since some of it might have been done by or taken / derived from the A32NX codebase, which is GPL. So, unless Synaptic Simulations want to opensource those parts of the product, they will probably violate GPL. Theat doesn't mean they cannot make it a payware, but according to the license, anyone can take that part of the code and publish it or sell it as they please as long as they make that opensource as well.

This is such a joke. The Synaptic guys kept emphasizing on their Discord how important the freeware and community aspect was to them. They were annoyed of anyone asking for a release date (yet they open a Discord with little information on it), arguing that things take longer because it's a freeware project. And now after people in the community got excited they're making it payware. That's ridiculous and no matter how good the end product may be, I'm not going to buy it simply for this stupid move.
