    KOPF Miami–Opa Locka Executive Airport

    Miami–Opa Locka Executive Airport (IATA: OPF, ICAO: KOPF, FAA LID: OPF) is a joint civil-military airport located in Miami-Dade County, Florida 11 mi (18 km) north of downtown Miami.

    This scenery includes handcrafted buildings of KOPF, two open hangars with animated doors that are open from 6am to midnight local time. Hide/unhide the flight yoke to open doors darning hours that they are closed. I also included all buildings from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami, all buildings from The Concours Club and the office of Miami-Dade Aviation Department.

    Install
    Extract archive and copy  jd-airport-kopf-Miami and jd-kopf-miami-fence to your community folder.

    You can use GAMod or GAMod2024 to get GA traffic. I use GAMod in FS2020 and FS2024, but have not used GAMod2024. I have noticed that FS2020 and FS2024 will not have GA traffic at some airports. This is not something that I can fix in my scenery. Even with the mods you may not get traffic at all airports.

    Can you consider doing KBED in Mass? With all these biz jets coming out this year, more smaller airports like this are gonna be used a bunch!

    I'm getting some serious performance issues in 2020. On the ground looking around the where the buildings are it's a stutter fest.

    Have you tried without the fence? You can also open the jd-airport-kopf-miami folder and delete the CGL directory. The scenery will work without it.

    On the next update I will reduce the amount of post in the fence by 50% and scale the CGL down to just cover the car club.

    Sounds good and thanks for this much needed airport in MSFS. Would you consider taking on KFXE and KVRB on this level? That would be about it for major business jet Florida destinations covered in MSFS. Someone did KVRB but it's basic and only for 2024.

    Thank you. There are a lot of good developers here and the way to get good is by continuing to make scenery. Of course the real key are the 3D models and realistic details.

    All of my scenery packages have the fence. I made it separate on OPF so that if you have issues using the scenery, you can disable the fence to see if it helps. All airports have a fence that separate the runway area from the area that is available to the public.

No changes made to jd-kopf-miami-fence. No need to replace it if you already have it. I had planned to reduce the number of post used in the fence, but the SSD that had the source files on it died and I don't want to recreate the whole fence. If you have issues using the scenery with the CGL and fence, try deleting the fence first followed with the CGL directory. The scenery will work without them.
