Coldfoot (PACX): Gateway to the Arctic

Nestled at the southern edge of Alaska’s Brooks Range, Coldfoot began as a gold rush camp in the early 1900s, named for the prospectors who got “cold feet” and turned back before reaching the harsh mining grounds of the Koyukuk River. Though the gold faded, the name stuck—and so did the spirit of grit and survival.

Today, Coldfoot is a vital stop along the Dalton Highway, halfway between Fairbanks and Deadhorse. With fewer than 20 year-round residents, it’s more outpost than town. The Coldfoot Camp offers fuel, food, and lodging to truckers, tourists, and scientists heading north. It’s also home to one of the northernmost truck stops in the world.

The airport is state-owned and publicly accessible, activated in 1971, and remains unattended year-round. It’s a critical hub for air taxi operations, medevac flights, and bush pilots ferrying supplies and passengers to even more remote villages. Fairbanks is the primary destination, with occasional hops to Anaktuvuk Pass.

Installation
Copy the tn-airport-pacx-coldfoot folder inside of the WinZip file into your MSFS Community folder.

Many thanks to the creators of the Required and Recommended libraries. If you have not previously installed these libraries in your Community folder, some objects may not be visible in your sim.  Remember, you only have to install these one time.  Also, go to the sim marketplace and download the free UK2000 Scenery Common Library and the free Emerald Library.  All Microsoft World Updates should be installed also.
