    Description

    This is a reactivation of EGHD Plymouth in sunny Devon.

    This was removed as a functional airport with the UK update along with a few others as it hasn't been an active airport in real life for quite some time. However that's not going to stop YOU. 

    I haven't gone all out with this so don't get moody. It's mainly about restoring it. However the ground textures have been replaced, a new taxi system applied and stock buildings have been fitted. 

    Last thing I read is that the latest plan for it is to store a bunch of concrete beams. Exciting. But no doubt it'll end up covered in Luxury Executive Family Apartments with a ground rent that triples every month and then they'll all start cracking and fall over. 

    Perhaps it'll return to operation some day and maybe a leader of the local council will use this very file to impress some slapper and be so moved that they make it their life's work. Not holding my breath.

    The main file is unchanged. 

    There is a now a second file with its own aerial image dating from olden times with the longer runway 6-24. I assume most people will prefer this as who gives a toss about some poxy housing estate? 

    The taxi system in this version has been tweaked a bit, along with some ground textures to reflect active usage rather than utter ruin and horror.

    This site's search seems to have given up on me. I'd better contact them. Still findable by Googling it. It will get an update at some point as it's getting a bit ragged.

    I'm trundling around it just fine right now. If ain't working then delete and redownload. If that don't work, then it wasn't meant to be I guess.

    Thanks for keeping this one updated.
    I've just tried the latest download.
    Using the original files (1.16mb), runway 5 is extending too far. It goes through the fence and is then surrounded by some white tiles.

    Oh dear. Looks like I've uploaded an early version of the longer version. Guess everyone was using that.

    Thank you for your wonderful sceneries, they are a mainstay of my sim world. Without them, it would be terribly bleak, and the same goes for your narratives!
    I’ve spent two days trying to add PY NDB & IPLY ILS to EGHD, but having failed miserably, I’m here cap in hand asking if you might instead oblige?
    Again, thank you for brightening up our virtual worlds.

    I have completely forgotten everything about navigation stuff. I try to avoid scratch building airports these days because of it.

    If you figure it out let me know and I'll also see if there are any better instructions around than there used to be.

    Thanks for keeping Roborough alive - even if idiots on the City Council are incapable of seeing beyond the end of their stunted noses.
    Grew up in Plymouth and had my first 'Saturday' job helping out with Brymon's Islanders. Later went on to do my twin rating at PSF.
    If you could get rid of that housing blot that has been built on the former SW half of 06, that would be great.

    I kind of get the feeling the council do want it to live, in their own special way.

    As for the SW corner, I have gotten rid of the blot. It's the second file.

    Having spent most of my life living in Plymouth and spending most of my life at the airport seeing it develop untill it was shut it would be good to see the airport reproducrd with the correct textured terminals etc and the airport with the dash hangar back in its Brymon Days.

    Ground image is the main problem. I tried adding stock grass to the bit built on and it looks utterly ludicrous.

    I'll see if there's anything usable out there and then see if I can figure out how to do it as it's an area I've never looked into.
