Description
VH-EBA was the first 747 delivered to Qantas in July 1971 in the livery known as the Ochre Livery and was named the after City of Canberra. Originally supposed to be a 747-100 but was cancelled for a 747-200 in 1969. Over its life this plane had several owners but was reported to have been scrapped in February 2012 at the age of 41. This This plane was the start of Qantas's almost 50 years of operating the 747 until VH-OEJ was retired in July 2020.
This livery is a full vectored decal with no pixelation which reduces the file size by over 50% than the traditional albedo texturing.

Beautiful. Thank you. Brings back memories of sitting in the backyard in the mid '70s with a pair of binoculars, listening to my VHF radio so I could listen to the pilots chatting with air traffic control as they flew overhead on their approach to Syndey.

Thank you, the work you do is absolutely first class. I love love love these 748 Qantas retrojets. Do you have any plans for more - the old 707 livery perhaps? Or one of the Indigenous liveries?

Thanks! Very much appreciated. I really want to make Wunala Dreaming, but just to trace the artwork would easily be 20-40 hours which is 10 times the amount of time I usually spend on just doing 1 livery. So am not rushing into it, unless the people persuade me.

I can only imagine how astronomically time-consuming on the Indigenous liveries would be. It would almost certainly be the most anticipated 747 livery... possibly ever. Do you have plans for your next project?

Nice work, however, EBA was a 238 with Pratt JT9 engines. Not a -8 series. Qantas has never has a 747-8/

Correct. All the 747-8 liveries I have made are marked as fictional except Air Force One VC-25B. All the liveries however are dedicated and resemble a real-life aircraft imagined as a 747-8.
And Qantas does have a 747-8. It's the Atlas Air freighter.

Haha. I’m young enough to have never of seen this livery. I only was aware of the post 1984 but have to say the 2007 is my favourite.
