Phoenix Goodyear Airport (KGYR) - Arizona
Phoenix Goodyear Airport (GYR) is owned and operated by the City of Phoenix. Located in the northern portion of the City of Goodyear, in the west valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area and south of Interstate 10, GYR is one of three airports owned by the City of Phoenix. The City of Phoenix purchased GYR in 1968 for use as a general aviation reliever facility to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, with the subsequent purchase of Phoenix Deer Valley Airport to serve a similar support role in accommodating general aviation activity.
GYR was originally established in 1941 as Naval Air Facility Litchfield Park. After World War II, it remained an operational facility, however, it served primarily as an aircraft storage and decommissioning facility from 1945 to 1965. Since the airport’s purchase, the City of Phoenix has invested many resources into the continued maintenance and development of the facility, from a new terminal building to T-hangars and tie-downs, aircraft parking apron expansion, and a new maintenance facility.

- Fixes, adds and removes taxilights.
- Removed or greatly reduced cars driving on taxi and runway.
- Added night lighting.
- Two Helicopter pad spawn points, gates H1 and H2.
Installation:
Unzip and insert phoenix-airport-kgyr-goodyear file into your community folder.

Should I be seeing the brown admin building that’s in the photo? Or is it replaced with a library building in the download? The scenery in that photo looks pretty good and more accurate.

I never see any AI planes taxiing or taking off. Can you check the taxiways to make sure they are all connected?

Hey nice work. I flew in and out of here a few times and loved this spot. I see a lot of really large airliners in some smaller parking spaces though. Not sure if you're still around but it would be nice to fix up some of these. Otherwise a big upgrade from the default sim.

The airport looks much better; well done! One suggestion, there should be more parking spaces in front of the small terminal at the northern end of the airfield. KGYR can accommodate large aircraft (as you know) but there are no parking spaces that are useful for flying large airplanes out of there. I know the area is typically used for small GA planes but having parking spaces there would allow a useful place to start a flight with large aircraft as well.
