    Tucson area POI With heliports - Image 1

    Description

           My intent for the Tucson Area POI Project is to build many of the bigest point of intrest and visuals in and around Tucson (Southern Arizona), that only the locals know. Many people don't know that to the west of Downtown Tucson is a hill called Sentinel Peak with a 160ft "A" on its side .  i plan to add more POI s, as i build them for future updates. Structures are real however names and logos are fictinal. Models work best with Bing Real World data on.

         With helicopters recently added to MSFS 2020 i felt the need to add heliports to my project. Helicopters are great for those that want to explore scenery object just a little closer and heliports are located at all points of the city.  I wanted to give real helicopter pilots a chance to practice their routs. Most of the helipads I've created are ground based and unedited, however University Medical Center (work in progres) has two rooftop helipads for practicing on buildings.

    coming in on approach to rwy 12, are the hills mountains on right side (which would be the south) side to be all GRAY? the vegetation and dirt is gray

    Thank you for sharing with us .
    I love to use this addon of Tucson is it possible that you can make it more compatible with the photogrammetry setting on. Unfortunately some buildings in the downtown area are flattened when I use your addon.

    This looks amazing! Would you entertain making this available via the Marketplace so that console folks can enjoy? I’ve explored doing something similar, but certainly would not waste the time if it were available (and perhaps paired with a local water fix?).

    Seems all the vegetation around the mission has gone missing. The cacti and potted plants are now pink checkerboard.

    Tucson is one of my favorite places and definitely one of the best places on earth for the aviation fan. I've been to AMARG, Marana, the PIMA museum, the Titan Missile Museum and even stayed overnight at Davis-Monthan AFB. Phoenix is just up the road with loads more airplanes so you just can't go wrong with a visit to the Valley of the Sun. This little addon just puts the meow in the cat. Thanks for making this little virtual city all the more interesting.

    I do it because no one else has and I want to fly in a bit more accurate Tucson (with low internet speed.)

    I watched your video, it was neat to see my model from someone else's point of view. However it brought up one question, what are those jagged points coming out of the ground (one big white one behind the mission and several smaller ground colored ones surrounding the building)? They are not supposed to be there. They are not in my sim. I wounder if others see it like that. I use bing data on when I level ground to place my objects which causes issues if turn off bing. other then a small hill , the one with the cross and lions(that will be added soon) the ground should be pretty level.


    I will update mission screen shots V2.1.3. soon to be uploaded. added is this versionis Tucson Inn Sign, still working on to Banner UMC but you can take off from it's heliports and fly west a few streets to to find it. Stop by the 1953 Tucson Inn for a coke. if you can land in the fence, two machines on premise a 1950's Vendo Coke bottles machine (i am quite proud of) out front and a modern lit Coke machine for people to find. Although, the Inn is closed, the sign is refurbished and lit, as in real life.

    Thanks for the reply, no problem, on length. Sure wish, somebody, could make a detailed of "Tombstone", in its entirety. Same with Bisbee. Beside your scenery of Tucson, and the Sedona scenery, I found, that there is not too much scenery in Arizona.

    Spending over 30 years in the Old Pueblo man, this is fantastic. Whenever I miss the area I just hop in my 172 and make sure this scenery mod is installed and all is well! Great updates too! Keep up the great work!


    PS - If ya ever want to hit another area up one that is in dire need is Bisbee. We used to go there quite a lot over the decades and the default scenery with the steep hills really does it no justice. it looks pretty whacky!
