    Upgrade of approach lighting,  threshold lights,  runway endlights and wigwags.  All attached lights are now directional.

    Added vehicles around the airfield area.

    Removal of smoke effects from fire practice area,  which appear to be causing loss of performance.

     

    Version 1.4

    A re-working of approach lights.

    Detail added to fire practice area.

    More custom-made buildings and fencing added,  particularily under approaches to runway 06 and runway 35.

     

     

    EGPL Benbecula Airport -  now version 1.3 

    Latest version adds the following:-

    Extensive perimeter fencing.

    Re-texturing of some aprons.

    Added detail to Benbecula golf course.

     

    Tree removal in local area           

    This is a partial upgrade of the existing  default airport.

    The basic default airfield layout is mostly retained,  the major changes are to the buildings and features around the main arrivals and departure apron.

    Version 1.2  includes the removal of the grossly oversized wind turbine on the approach to runway 06.  The wigwags at the hold points are now flashing.   The modified approach lighting has had lights added,  although these are illuminating the ground during night time hours.  However the airports normal hours don't include night time arrivals.   There is also significant extra detail added to the village of Balivanich.  Also many trees have been removed around the village and airfield.

    The airport is on the island of Benbecula,  being part of Scotland's Outer Hebrides.

    The airfield is now run by Highlands and Islands Airports Group and has regular scheduled flights to Stornoway,  Inverness and Glasgow.  There are also flights supporting the nearby missile testing range.

    The airfiled file should be unzipped into your MSFS Community Folder.

    Nice airport Scotflight. I just installed this (MSFS2024) and noticed a patch of missing textures to the left of RWY 24, so I reverted to your previous version and observed the same missing textures. I don't recall noting any issues using your scenery in MSFS 2020, so suspect that you have used a 2020 texture that maybe isn't available in 2024. I hope you can easily fix and that it is not a problem specific to me.

    The update is only intended for MSFS2020. I had not looked at the files in MSFS2024 before uploading. I have now, and see the problem you highlight, it's the added texturing of the golf course and this will of course be looked at when I complete a version for 2024. The quick look I have had of the airfield in 2024 suggests there is not much otherwise that is not working. The two airfields I have so far uploaded for 2024 did require quite a bit of work.

    Appear to be having a texture glitch when taking off from this airport, all the scenery surrounding the airport grounds have either pink or checkered textures

    This is not a problem that has been reported, not has appeared in our testing. Is the problem affecting the ground textures such as aprons, taxiways etc or is it the buildings?

    It appears to be moreso the ground textures around the airport rather than the airport itself, must be a google/msfs error rather than your mod

    I cannot download this scenery; on opening the airport in flightsim.to a doqnload button flashes on the screen then disappears - ditto your other airports

    Have tested at this end and found no problems. Don't have official figures for downloads today but there does seem to have been a few so far, I am presuming successfull.
