    Greater Manchester Pt. 1 - Manchester Centre - Image 1

    Description

    Important:

    Before installing this newer version, delete all files from the previous version.

    This scenery has two zip-files that both have to be downloaded for it to work.

     

    How to install:

    Step 1: Extract both zip-files into the same location

    Step 2: Within the extracted folder (seb-manchester-1) there is one subfolder. Place this subfolder in the MSFS2020 community folder.

     

    The subfolder has the following name:

    seb-manchester-main

     

    Discription:

    This scenery covers the centre of Manchester with photogrammetry. It is part 1 out of 10 in a series that combined covers the Greater Manchester Area. All parts in this series work together & seperatly. 

    The scenery has been optimized with the use of lily texture packer, to greatly reduce file loading times.

    The detail level is LOD 16-19. 

     

    Changelog (Version 2.0):

    - Better colours & contrast

    - Twice the area covered in total

    - More performance-friendly LOD's used

    - CPU usage optimized by adding colliders for each tile

    - Reduced RAM usage

    Thanks but it freezes the sim and the whole pc. Need to hard reset every time. Any ideas?

    once you downloaded both file do you have too extract both files at the same time or 1 at a time .?

    Love your 10 part Greater Manchester photogrammetry and have been using it now for quite some time.

    I should like to consult your expertise for help in how I can either make appropriate revisions to the scenery or else to request the appropriate adjustments to ensure full compatibility with the scenery addon titles linked below!!

    I would assume it was an amazing addon once upon the time. Since then it became a pink sea of FPS killer. Please have the courtesy of updating or simply remove it since I guess it is wasting huge amounts of time for many users.

    Did you actually download both files? When you click download, there's a dropdown menu above the big green download button.. both files are on there. Works fine for me :)

    @Mrphilipoldham - OMG... yes, there were two files afterall. Never noticed the dropdown (as have many others it seems LOL). Thought Id download everything and try them again, once added back into my community folder........ YES..... this time, no pink textures and the added scenery was plainly visible.
    In fact, too plainly, the borders between these add-ons and the base MSFS scenery were terribly visible as straight ugly borders of mismatched ground textures/colours. But also in places the boundaries were also apparent as sever differences in height producing a long sausage-shaped slope at the boundaries.... horrible.
    Lastly, they appear to be an FPS killer for my set-up with frame rates dropping to 3fps and total freezes lasting seconds flying over Manchester and the airport. So, after all that, they dont work for me at all..... but thats on my set-up (3060ti 8GB GPU, i5 10400F CPU, 16GB DDR4) .... so might be perfect for others. Plus you cant take away the effort put into all these addons by the developer !!!

    Youve gone off the radar...... folk have asked you for A YEAR or more about the supposed 2nd zip file that doesnt seem to exist. Also the fact that all your 10 Manchester area downloads just produce pink coverage... totally useless.
    Personally..... as it stands right now..... the downloads are a waste space.

    seb-manchester-main is the only folder in the zip file.,,,and it's a pink mass.
    if you say there is another folder somewhere, could you please tell us what it is called?

    Have downloaded, deleted and re downloaded this scenery there is only one zip file and not two as you have stated in your description. I have installed the scenery into my flightsim community folder but all I get is a lumpy pink mass. The same also applies to one of your further download sceneries, York. Once again just a pink mass. I have deleted a number of third party sceneries believing it maybe due to a conflict. Unable to resolve the problem I returned the third party scenery. I find attempting to install your scenery so frustrating. I hope you can help to resolve this problem as I hope, in the near future I can fly over a realistic looking manchester.

    Not sure if I am doing something wrong or perhaps need to delete previously installed software. Whenever I install this download, the scenery area just shows up as a white mass. This occurs even when installed separately. This applies to all of the Manchester scenery areas. Can you please inform me as to how this can be remadied. Thanks.
