Description
Adds engine startup smoke effects to PMDG DC-6.
If you are a radial engine lover, you might have missed the characteristic smoke show display those engines put on at engine start. This add-on will add those for you so that you can enjoy the startup process of this great product by PMDG even more.

* cache cleared, no additional other mods, the manifest.json completed by "package order..." (that line is in the DC6-main folder manifest.json, too), DC6-Type A -> no smoke
* cache cleared, no additional other mods, back to the unchanged manifest.json from the download, DC6-Type B -> no smoke

I believe it's been said on the PMDG DC-6 Forum that they are only going to get it to work in FS2024. No changes or additions, such as startup smoke, from the FS2020 model.
I tried this in FS2024 and it did not work for me. I edited the exterior model xml file, but still no luck.
Thank you for any more development time you put into making this work in FS2024.

Believe PMDG is also working on a native MSFS24 DC-6 that is likely to include a startup smoke effect.

Thanks for adding some hard needed smoke to the Six!
As a suggestion, would it be possible to couple the smoke to the engine oil temps. Meaning more smoke when it's colder outside (oil temp is at ambient temp at start) and then slowly dissapearing when the oil heats up? Once the engines are warmed up, the smoke would disappear and not effect framerates.

That is a great suggestion! Should be possible, I will look into it!

I have PDMG-Version 2.4.57 and just made three trials:
i) loading the mod (without added line) ... then starting MSFS24 ... then a flight with DC6 cold, then an engine -> no smoke
ii) adding "package_order_hint": "CUSTOM_SIMOBJECTS", before "realease notes..." ... then starting MSFS24 ... etcetc -> no smoke
iii) I cleared the cache and repeated ii). -> no smoke.
I'll give it some more tries later. If I have any success, I'll let you know.
Regards, Hauke
