    Description

    Adak PADK Version 3-20

    PADK serves the community and island of ADAK AK. This was a major US Naval base supporting 6,500 personnel and their families until the 80s when it was closed. The base and infrastructure were assigned to local indigenousAlaskans. The town is now largely in disrepair due to the extreme weather and prohibitive cost of maintainance. The airfield is maintained by local city authorities. Alaska Airlines operates regular charter flights into PADK

    IMPORTANT: Built using 97% default objects and 3% UK2000 objects You MUST HAVE ALL WORLD UPDATES INSTALLED FOR OBJECTS TO APPEAR CORRECTLY!

    NOTE: I have left all default taxiways and removed excessive parking spots. This should make it compatible for GSX users

    N.B. This scenery is free. If you don't like it simply delete it and use the default scenery. No requests for changes please!

    NOTAM 2: Weather is a factor, It is the Aleutians!

    The airport appears in 2024 for me (with snow!), but the terminal isn't loading with the exception of the decorative elements (the ones with the diagonal lines) on top of the building. Would you please let me know where it came from so that I can check whether I'm missing the library or update for it? I thought I'd enabled all world updates in 2024, but clearly something's amiss.

    Hi TRSMatthew25. Could be a while. I'm still trying to get my MSFS20 sceneries updated so I can eventually convert them to 24 specs.

    Would this be possible to make for 24? I love the Aleutians and would love to see Adak better detailed.

    Hi Canadian_Access. Thanks for your kind comment. I'm trying to convert my (nearly 200) sceneries to 24 but it's a very slow process as each one requires a total re-build.

    I forgot how expansive this airport is. Worth it though to explore the whole thing and find great detail nuggets all over. A really great upgrade.
